Garage build looks good immediately after construction but after a few years the siding became wavy and started sagging, especially on hot days and on the south side of the building. Upon inspection to determine why the problem we found that most of the nails that are supposed to hold the siding on never hit a stud; like a novice carpenter missed nailing into every two out of three studs. Shoddy work on the part of Hodges Garages.

I used an architect who helped design and supervise the progress of my new garage/art studio, 2012. Dwane worked well with the architect. I was committed to the project. Estimate of time of project? 6-8 weeks. How long did it take? 6 months. They are building everywhere in my area and is a good sign for this older neighborhood. My driveway started a hairline crack the first year. They were uninterested. It reached across the driveway. The drywall tape started peeling and I let it go, and now my beautiful trellis is rotting, tipping and cracking the outside stucco. They took a look at it, ran a large nail through the wood to temporarily lift it almost level. But the cedar wood is rotting, the crack is still there and the other side of the trellis is starting the same disintegration. It would have been so convenient for them to fix this. They were in the neighborhood since last fall.

Dwayne and crew did a great job throughout our entire project. He worked very well with our architect and had a lot of really good suggestions along with way. The craftmanship of what they built is actually better than my house and most people are shocked when they learn the garage was actually an addition. The crews, espeically the brick guys, pay very close attention to detail and are great to work with. The whole project went better than I ever thought it would. Dwayne is very honest and I would hire them again in a heartbeat to do work at my house.

Hodges Garages installed siding and stone our our home a couple of years ago but we left the back un-done because we were working on a room addition idea. Fast forward to late summer of 2014 and we were ready to move ahead.
Work proceeded over the late fall and winter. The project took about 3 months due to weather and other external factors. I found the best way to communicate was to email questions and punch lists. The response was usually prompt and, that way, we both had a written record of what was discussed.
Hodges has his own crews and every now and then, our crew had to spend a day elsewhere. On a couple of occasions, there was a wait for materials to be delivered. We were fine with all that, since it was generally cold and we spend less time outdoors in cold weather. The biggest delay was because one of the windows was faulty and needed to be re-ordered.
I noticed that they used state-of-the art tools and materials, even though that was not specified in the contract. Hodges upgraded our choice of French doors because "it's a much better door that you'll be happy with." He was right.
His crew installed the pex tubing for the radiant floor heat, but my plumber did the mechanical installation. Heated concrete floors are great! We originally expected a 3-season room, but the floor heats the room nicely even in the coldest weather! We didn't add air conditioning since we planned on keeping the windows open and the insulation kept the room tolerable during summer. (If we shut the windows and open the French doors to the house, it cools down nicely.)
We love our new room.

It took awhile for them to start as the spring was very wet, but once construction got underway it went pretty quickly, they told us about 2 months and that's around how long it took. Dwayne helped us with many aesthetic changes and they even rebuilt part of our fence that had to be moved, which we certainly weren't expecting them to do.

Because they were held up on another job, start date was pushed back. Once they started, they worked through to completion as projected. We were very satisfied with the results and grateful for the experience and expertise with building codes in Kansas City.

I was very happy with their service. The gentleman who owns the company is very kind. The only complaint I have is that because of some weather problems, they left some construction materials and I had to call them back out to get them. It was an honest mistake, not a big deal, and they took care of it very quickly.

They were very good. The work they did was high quality, and they did the work within the time frame and within the original price estimate. All in all I was pleased and would recommend them to anyone.

They were great to work with. They were very straightforward, they worked with us on coming up with a plan on what would work best, they were very accommodating and they stayed within both the time frame and the price that they originally estimated. The quality of work was great.

Mr Hodges returned my call promptly and gave me the best prepared estimate. The old garage was damaged by fire and Mr Hodges met with my insurance claims rep to inspect the garage after the initial insurance repair estimate was unsatisfactory. Mr. Hodges was able to convince the insurance company to pay for a new garage as opposed to repairing the existing damaged garage. He did this by faxing city code information regarding the easement requirements. His crew foreman was on site and assisted with all phases of work. Additional changes were made for me after the initial estimate without any second thoughts. The sub contractors for the guttering and electrical were great. The painters had to return to fix some areas. Fill dirt was placed around exterior of garage and complete clean up including power washing of garage and driveway were made. The finished garage was great. The concrete work for the drive and sidewalk was very professional. They paid attention to detail, no corner cut

Since it was a smaller job, we all agreed they could start when they could fit it in. This was in Jan. 2006. So they started in March, which was fine with us. They worked hard, and it took about a week, but were sloppy, messy and left nails all over the floor of the existing garage. In fact, we had another contractor doing some light bathroom remodels at the time,and I came home one day to find THAT contractor sweeping up in the garage because he couldn't stand the mess. One day, the crew just left at 5pm, leaving all of their tools in the driveway--still plugged it and all over the place. When they bent a nail in the wood, they just hammered it down on its side. In addition, I had to keep calling Hodges to get our certificate of occupancy. Haven't provided a report before now as we weren't members then.

Hodges Garages is excellent. They matched the siding profile and roofing material to our house perfectly. The garage looks like it cost twice what we paid for it. They are wonderful, professional and friendly. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a garage. We sold the house very quickly and I know the beautiful garage really helped!

This company has a great reputation for quality, but I had horrible customer service. They were an hour late for the estimate, but I went with them for the quality. They ended up doing the job in twice as much time as estimated, spread over 2 days, and were even an hour and a half late for the 2nd day of work. When I expressed I was not satisfied with the punctuality of their company, the answers I received were, "we can't control our people," "these things happen," and "you don't have to be there for the work to be performed." This was unacceptable to me as they were working on a structured that contained my belongings. They even tried to make me feel bad about them agreeing to do the job the same week as the bid, which I did not request. In a nutshell, the work was quality, but the attitudes of the Hodges family (dealt with the father, mother, and son) left much to be desired. In my opinion, this company should not be used if you have any concerns about schedules and punctuality.

Excellent workmanship. They began the job close to the time Dwayne projected, finished it quickly, and even did a couple of small "extras" for us that weren't in the contract. The garage door didn't quite fit, so Dwayne got the supplier to change it. He responded well to all calls and inquiries. The price was very competitive with two other garage contractors we contacted. Before signing, Dwayne readily supplied us with several addresses in the Brookside area where he'd recently built garages; everyone we talked to was also pleased with the job he did.
