I met with Dr. Shriwise seeking a second opinion for a diagnosis of needing a full hip replacement. At the age of 47, I was not excited about the thought of this procedure so I sought a second opinion at the Dickson Diveley Center. I was happy when Dr. Shriwise told me I had several options on the table before a full replacement. I've not made a decision on what procedure I will have done yet. But, I will have it done by Dr. Shriwise. Great bed side manner, and seemed to really care about my health.

Great! I highly recommend Dr Bowling. He is very professional, personable and cost conscious.

I observed the intake staff interaction with patients. They were very robotic in how each in take was processed. Void of any plesentry or kindness. The physicians assistant interacted with patients in the same way. She wanted to rush thru the assessment and took offence when I asked her to slow down. My visit with the doctor was informtive but rushed and void of interest in my condition. In short, my experience with this practice was the equivalent of being placed on an assembly line. In and out with minimum of human intera tion. I would recommend or return to this practice.

Saw Dr. Santos several times for hip cortisone injections. We had a problem with my insurance covering the injection due to the wording that they submitted to my insurance. He personally called and took care of that. I've had many hip injections and if something is going to go wrong, it's going to happen to me. But, he hit my femoral nerve and numbed my leg and knee for several hours. Now, almost 6 months later, the bottom of my knee is still numb. Not sure I will ever have feeling in the skin again. But, he was very concerned and said that it can happen and is very rare. He has a great bed side manner. The injection did work but, not sure I'd let him inject me again.

He is excellent. What stands out is his skill in putting in a new knee in your leg.   

I can only tell you positive things about him. I like him very, very much. He is the only surgeon really that I've ever gone to. He has quite a reputation. I think he used to be the surgeon for the Royals and the Chiefs and he no longer does that. But I just think he is a very good surgeon. The results were good, both for my wife and for me. And I like his personal manner very much too. He is a very warm guy and very friendly.

Satisfied with treatment. No return visit necessary.

Waited 45 minutes for an appointment. No explanation for delay. Just a lame, sorry.

iAppt in 2011 went horrid. I was put off and finally got to see Dr Bernhardt and was told I needed an injection for my 3 herniated discs. They proceeded to tell me it would be 3 more wks before I could see the anesthesiologist in their group. I then got a recommendation for another anesthesiologist and got in much sooner.
I started having pain again in Aug, 2013. I was in another city and was told that I might be a candidate for surgery. I called Dr Bernhardts office and they said that he was part time now, but I explained I wanted a surgical opinion and they made appt for end of Nov, 2013.
They just called and said that they were sorry but Dr Bernhardt would be gone that week  in November and couldn't see me until Jan, 2014. They have never offered to have me see someone else in the group except anesthesia and when I was in so much pain, they didnt seem compassionate or that there might be some way to help me faster and more efficiently.
Personally, I could never recommend Dr Bernhardt or the way I have been put off by his office. I am a nurse, and if I were to treat patients that way I would probably not have a job. If he's cutting back, they should have recommended someone when they called to reset appt for Jan, 2014. If he's never going to be in the office, maybe he needs to retire.

He doesn't take my insurance so I could not use him for shoulder surgery, even though I would've liked to have.

I had the left full shoulder replacement done in 01/15/2011.  The right side full shoulder replacement was done 04/15/2012.  Dr. Lowry Jones and his staff were terrific.  Using the Kansas City Orthopedic clinic was the best choice I ever made.  Great care from start to finish and the small size of their hospital in Leawood was perfect.  It felt more like being in a spa than a hospital during the short recovery.  Both surgeries went off without a hitch and the recovery was everything I could have hoped for.  Dr. Jones explained everything that would happen, the staff was extremely attentive, and the hospital stay a breeze.  They set up a bed so my wife could stay the first time.  When I had the second surgery, I was so comfortable that she went home.

Dr. Fotopoulos was prompt, friendly, asked if I wanted him to explain my X-rays to me (yes, of course, never had that offered before!), and determined that I didn't require further action at this point. That I appreciated, I didn't want to waste time and money if it wasn't necessary. If I do happen to need another appointment, I won't hesitate to see him again.

I had a herniated disc in my lower back and was referred to Dr Bernhardt after multiple injections did not work to resolve the issue. Dr Bernhardt assessed my scans and explained all the options to me. He walked me through the procedure step by step and informed me of all the possible outcomes (both good and bad). I was able to schedule my surgery within 2 weeks of my first appointment. The day of surgery, Dr Bernhardt met with me before the procedure and also in the recovery room. The procedure took a little longer than expected because he wanted to put a stitch in the disc to help prevent it from rupturing again. He kept at it until he got the stitch to stay. I was able to leave the hospital the same night. I met with him for followup 2 times after surgery and he was always personable and good natured. I chose him because multiple people told me he was "the spine guy" in Kansas City. I would not have done anything differently.

They are prompt, professional and courteous. I enjoyed it. They diagnosed and treated me and I am all fixed up now. I am pretty happy with it. One of the reasons I went there was because they had an open spot when my shoulder was hurting.

He worked me in to get my surgery before the end of the year, because I have a big deductible starting in January. His staff is very professional. I couldn't ask for better.

From start (check in) to finish (meeting with scheduler, then check out) was great!
