Wish i had read these reviews before i hired blue river!! What a horrible and expensive mistake. If you want ANY concrete work done, DO NOT USE STEVE JOHNSON. i only paid him half and would pay the other half once he fixed mistakes. He choose to not work with me on a correction but instead put a lien against my home. Now I’m dealing with large “pockmarks” from the first snow, new concrete is less than year old, on top of other issues!! Stay away!

Run, Don't walk from Steve Johnson of Blue River Concrete. If you do decide to use him. DO NOT pay him anymore then the 20% down until the job is "completely" done to your satisfaction. He will damage your property and Not take responsibility nor will he abide by the contract that "he" produced. My garage floor cracked from front to back within a week. They cracked my existing concrete stairway wall in several places with their bobcat and knocked a hole in the garage sheetrock. They graded rutted and damaged my side yard and never fixed it. They left piles of debris at both corners of my driveway for a week. They damaged my garage door. Very careless bobcat work to the point they broke their own windshield in my driveway. Steve does "not" stand by his word or work and totally brushes off any concerns you may have and does not listen. He gets angry, rude and pouty if you do not agree him. He does not show up when he says and does not communicate accordingly. He has an excuse for everything! You may want to read this Blog. I wish I had before hiring him. The blog describes his actions dead on. [*** Link removed ***] Now to review the actual Blue River Concrete Company Website statements. They say they were established in 1997. Not so. They were established in 2008. They say there is a Rock Solid Guarantee. You can not find the Guarantee anywhere on their website nor will they give you anything in writing. DO NOT believe anything verbal from Steve They say they use American steel rebar. Not so. They use fiberglass. They DO NOT care about your property or your neighbors property. I know by experience. They DO NOT treat customers with respect. I know by experience. They say they wear logo Shirts. I never saw a single logo shirt from any employee or Steve Johnson the owner. On the website Steve makes it sound like a big business. In fact there is Steve and 3 workers. Steve hurries the jobs as fast as he can to get to the next one and if he has your money, good luck getting him to return to fix things or clean up. Again, I know by experience. They do not compact the sub grade properly. They say they know concrete and the right mix. My garage floor was poured way to wet and was cracking within a week. Steve even told me it was to wet when it was poured but doesn’t want to do anything about it. And yet even on his website he says if the mix is to wet it will crack. They say they know how to grade it correctly. Not So. My garage floor is high in the middle and the water runs towards the side walls in the garage. Their website is all smoke and mirrors. If the website says how wonderful and knowledgeable they are you can bet the opposite is true. If they were as good as they say, word of mouth would keep them busy for life.

I had multiple cracks in my driveway due to poor loading and clearing. But, the Blue River Concrete company came in, fixed the problem immediately and did so at a reasonable price. They did amazing, I would absolutely recommend to my friends and family as well.
