Nineteenth Century Restorations

It was a negative experience working with the contractor. He continually went over on his estimates without communicating to us that this would occur; he was defensive, insulting, condescending, absent for days, non-communicative, did not want to show any receipts for services, never took notes, did not listen to our requests, made change orders that cost us without our consent, had no consideration of our schedule, left trash in our yard that we had to dispose of, did not perform lead paint removal in accordance with regulations, and when we tried to end the contract, he threaten to put a lien on our house. His carpentry work was substandard and not to our satisfaction. He built and charged us for kitchen cabinets but never put in drawers or doors. He left things unfinished. He is bad at managing a project, does not keep accurate records and is not organized. Overall, a bad experience for us that we never want to repeat.
