I called the 24 hour service line and they had a tech out to my house by 10am. I am a preventative maintenance customer so that may move me to the front of the line, but that also got me a free service call and my house was cooling again in half an hour. Totally worth every penny.

They were amazing. They were the only company that would come out and give an estimate...and were $200 lower than the others. The work was done quickly, the price was honest and fair. Would definitely use them again

If we had submitted this report in June or July 2011, the company would have earned an A or B in overall experience. We had Niehoff/Dunco Heating and Cooling install electronic dampeners in our ductwork, so that our air conditioning worked more effectively. Clint quoted us a price and the installation was completed timely and professionally. We were very pleased and would have recommended the company.
However, as part of the installation and included in the cost, Niehoff/Dunco also serviced the furnace unit, cleaning the unit so that it ran more efficiently. In August, our system was not cooling and water was running in the basement. We contacted Niehoff-Dunco and a service technician came to our house. Looking at the situation, the technician realized that the fan assembly was slightly out of balance and was not seated properly (this is the fan assembly that was cleaned in June). He pushed it back into place and the air conditioner cooled properly again. The technician felt that the call would be under warranty because the fan assembly simply doesn't move out of place and the only people that would have touched the assembly was the Niehoff/Dunco technicians in June 2011.
However, we were billed any way and even though we wrote a letter, we were still charged for the service call in August 2011. We don't feel that Niehoff/Dunco stands behind its work and consumers should proceed with caution.

Everything got fixed great, including the leak. It was warranty work so I was not charged. My experience has been really positive. They are a good company and have been very responsive. I had them install a new heat pump when we first moved in. We had to motify the furnace and put in a larger coiling unit. I thought the job went fine. The owner came back through to check the work and he did not like how it was installed. He had another employee come back and reinstall the entire unit. That really surprised me and impressed me. The system ran much better then. That is the main reason I have used them again. They are a good company, do good work and are reasonably priced. I can't think of anything negative about them. They are very responsive and punctual. One time they were running late but they called and notified me. They communicate well with the customer.

Last fall I contacted Niehoff/Dunco technician and salesman Clint Livingston to replace a 15-year old A/C compressor. I told him that I wanted to go with a heat pump, but didn't want to replace my furnace to do it. The furnace was still good. Clint suggested that we modify the ducting and install the larger (and more efficient) coil to meet the SEER 13 rating. I agreed. As part of the deal, Clint included a humidifier at no charge. Work was scheduled promptly and the unit was installed fairly quickly. Everything worked fine, and looked fine to me. Nonetheless, Clint was not satisfied with the quality of the installation, had the company owner come and look at it himself, and soon had another technician come in and re-do the job. It was done exceptionally well. As winter approached, I noticed a discrepancy in temperature readings I was getting from the control unit and a calibrated thermometer I use. I let Clint know about this and he quickly arrived to replace the thermometer in the compressor with a higher quality thermometer at no cost. That solved the problem. Later, during a particularly cold Saturday night in January, the furnace stopped working. I called up Clint and he came over within an hour or so and fixed the problem, leaving a party early to do so. The following Monday he sent a technician over to find the source of the problem, which was a short caused by the humidifier. It was under warranty and the unit was replaced. Overall, the service I have received from this company is exemplary.
