Kring's is part of homeowners' insurance company approved network of carpet damage claim assessors. Flooded carpet area was measured and a carpet sample sent to a laboratory to assess original carpet quality and perhaps damage to backing. Kring's representative was personable and seemed knowledgeable about flood damage remediation and insurance claim protocols, so it was very easy to utilize them for the carpet replacement and install. Carpet was ordered while there was considerable time for other work to be completed. It was on hand when installation time came, which was quickly scheduled and went well.

The story has been told above

. Good experience. Just would have gone with a totally green product for the glue if I had it to do over as far as the reaction I had to the glue,

They were on time for their appointment for getting us an estimate. They have been on time for the work they have done this week. My daughter was out of school and the guys were good with letting her watch them work. The scheduled 3 days for the job. Due to the fact that I have an older home, there are always surprises, a flange broke off the toilet when they removed it. They arranged for a plumber to come out and fix it. They called me to let me know when this happened, and when the plumber was able to come out earlier than expected, they called to let me know. Overall I'm please with their work. Nothing in my house is level or straight and they managed to get the vinyl squared in my not-so-square rooms. They may be a little pricy, but I think that I've got my money's worth in that it looks good and is well done.

The job was supposed to start on Monday morning, they had another job they needed to finish so would not be available until early afternoon. They arrived at about 2:30 pm. The plan was that the job would take 5 days and we asked up front if there were any times where our home would not be reasonably usable. At this time we were typically out of the house from 7:15 am to approximately 6 pm. The job seemed to go reasonably well until Thursday evening. I received a call from my wife that there was a note on our door that no one could walk on the floor until after 8 pm. No one from Krings called to ask if this was OK or let us know that this was going to happen. I was driving home from a business trip and called Kring's and asked what this was all about as well as why no one had let us know this would be the situation. Sarah did her best to track the guys down, but it did not change the fact that my wife and 7 yr old son could not enter our home until 8 pm. The job was finished on time, but poorly. There are several spots where the sealer is and quot;pooledand quot; and has dried that way. The risers on our steps going upstairs have been gouged from where they were sanded and the original nails are now visible in several places. Damage was done to the paint below the railing overlooking the front hallway where cords and hoses from the equipment were allowed to hang. Bottom line the floor looks worse than it did when they started and we have damage.

I called Krings and let them know we were not happy with their work. Brit Kring personally came out, took pictures and assured me (even shook my hand) we would be taken care of. We scheduled a re-do for a time when we would be out of town for a week and were never contacted.

About 6 months later, Krings sent me a nasty letter (certified mail) with a bill threatening to sue us for not paying. I went down to the office and asked to speak to the person who signed the letter, she was not there. I set up another time and Brit Kring came out again, took pictures and this time told him we wanted restitution from Krings for all of the damage they caused as well as we just wanted to walk away. Brit again assured me that we would be taken care of and shook my hand. To date we have received nothing from them and have paid nothing to them.

Since this experience we had another flooring company come out and give us an estimate. During his visit he asked me if I wanted our floor stained, because it currently does not have any stain on it. I showed him the work order from Krings that clearly stated the floor was to be stained and listed the color, yet another misstep that I was not even aware of.

Their price was competitive, service before the work was done was good, but we will not let them back into our home.

My overall experience was outstanding. The sales person was knowledgeable and helpful and allowed us to take several floor samples home. The installation was done very professionally with little disruption to our daily life. I would recommend them without hesitation.
