He gave my cat some shots and a yearly exam. I thought they were prompt and friendly. They were professional and anwered all my questions I had. I was interested in getting dental care for my cat so they gave me more information about that. They also gave some samples to take home.

I would say it went okay, but nothing out of the ordinary. As stated above, I think the quality of care was good, but nothing extraordinary that I couldn't find in Topeka.

Our dog has diabetes and is blind. We have been pleased with their services. They have a very knowledgable staff and a boarding service. They are not the cheapest service around but they are very knowledgable and good.

Dr. Marguerite Ermeling is a gifted vet, has a wonderful bedside manner, and is efficient, fast, and affordable. She has a truly gentle and remarkable way with cats and people, and is calm, competent, knowledgeable, and effective. We took our cat to Dr. Ermeling at Gentle Care because two other vets in Lawrence were unable to tell us what was wrong with him. He started vomiting profusely two days earlier. She gave him a stroke on the chin and charmed him into opening up wide, which was remarkable in itself. But when he wouldn't let her look under his tongue far enough, she gave him "a little laughing gas" and found a nylon string around the base of his tongue connected to a wad of string in the stomach. She used a scope to remove the string and sent us on our way for $203. This is not the fanciest place in town, but it was by far the most effective of the three we tried with this problem. We felt so grateful to Dr. Ermeling, and would recommend her practice to anyone.
