We took our dog to have a sonogram. Arrive to have the sonogram only to have a “doctor” that clearly stated to us she did not know how to properly perform a sonogram. She told us our dog had at least three puppies, possibly more, and sent us along our way. Fast forward three weeks. It’s really weighing on my fiancée that she felt cheated on the sonogram and contacted the office to see if it could be re-done. They apologized and scheduled one with someone trained to do the sonogram. We go in this evening for the sonogram only to find out that not only is our dog not pregnant, but she has a severe infection and has to have an emergency surgery to remove her uterus and will never be able to have puppies. The doctor tells us how “lucky” we are that we caught this infection when we did or our dog would have died. I’ll let everyone else, another veterinarian, the Kansas Veterinary Licensing Board, and an attorney decide the outcome in the end... But this office had the nerve to not only charge us for the operation to remove the uterus that could have been prevented if someone that knew how to perform a sonogram had done it in the first place... But to actually charge us extra because of “complications” also caused by their negligence. This will likely be veterinary malpractice. I cannot say anything negative about all of the doctors in this practice, but the ones that we have dealt with have been incompetent and clearly dishonest. As routine as a doggy pregnancy would seem to be, I cannot imagine trusting this practice with anything ever again. UPDATE: Attempted to pick up copies of the sonograms they performed. My fiancée went in first and was told they couldn’t be printed because the machine was broken. Then I go in and Dr. Liebl tells me the disc burner is broken. I ask for the make and model of the sonogram machine and Google it. There are a number of ways to transfer files from this machine. This is a deliberate attempt to slow our ability to get the documentation we are entitled to. More lies from both Dr. Liebl and his staff. UPDATE: Another veterinarian perform sonograms, performed the spaying procedure, and dissected the uterus. Our dog was never pregnant. The infection was very bad and it was determined it likely should have been caught at the first sonogram. This is why CPAH does not want to release our sonogram photos because those pictures will show that the untrained and negligent Myranda Lyon should have caught the infection in the first sonogram. It is also highly likely that, if caught earlier, it could have been treated with antibiotics and hormones and we would not have to sacrifice her uterus. We fully believe this is Veterinary Malpractice, further confirmed by the lies and the refusal to release records we have rights to. No amount of years of service mean a thing... When something goes wrong, that is where you see the true colors of their ethics.

I have a diabetic chihuahua who is not very friendly at the vet. He has to be muzzled even for a nail trim. I see Dr. Miranda Lyon for blood work and check ups. She saved his life. I truly believe if not for her patience, kindness and knowledge he wouldn't have made it. This office is not the cheapest you'll find, but they are the best in Lawrence for sure! Dr. Tom is super awesome too! But is very busy and in an emergency situation Dr. Lyon was able to take care of us. I'm so glad we found her, I don't know if anyone else would have cared the way she did.

We have been taking our dog to see Dr. Liebl to treat his ongoing ear infection as well as skin allergies. Dr. Liebl is very thorough and knowledgeable with animals and it shows. He has been taking extra time to have phone conversations with my husband and I whenever needed, and has been treating our dog with every effort to try to resolve his ear issues. Every time we bring our dog in he gives him a full check over and takes time with us to explain things. The staff seems friendly as well. It is worth our drive from Topeka.

Cesar Milan may be the and ldquo;dog whisperand rdquo; but Tom Liebel doesn't even move his lips and dogs understand him. He's a unique individual who serves both the patient and the animal owner. He understand these are companion animals and a key part of people's lives. When a pet and it's owner come into his office, he realizes the dynamics and treats them with respect and amazing compassion. He doesn't talk down to the owner nor use jargon those in the medical profession wouldn't understand. I completely understand when he explains health issues with our dog Tova and when I ask questions, he answers them without talking down to me.Tom always returns phone calls and is absolutely committed to the health of the animals he's entrusted with. Clinton Parkway Animal Hospital is more expensive than most place in town, but my dog is absolutely priceless and I can't imagine using anyone else.

We have been with Dr. Tom Liebl since 1991. During that time we have had 2 dogs and 5 cats. Tom understands that we consider them as 'beloved pets' and 'animals' but not 'children', so he never pressures us for expensive or experimental treatments. We take very good care of them with Tom's help and when they can no longer live a pain-free life, he helps us make the correct decision on what to do. We have 3 cats right now and he helps us with all our care decisions. He is quick to respond to e-mails which I appreciate very much.

Our normal doctor is Dr. Libel, but he wasn't able to see us in this emergency situation. The new doctor at the clinic, a woman (forgot her name, but she's the only woman) saw our dog instead, and did a very fine job. The dog needed an x-ray to determine if the leg was broken, and when it was not, the doctor determined that she had merely pulled a muscle and sent us home with some pain meds. CPAH also followed up in a day or two to check on our dog to see how she was doing. I have used Clinton Parkway Animal Hospital for years, and am comfortable saying that they are the best vet clinic in Lawrence. They are also probably the most expensive.....so I can't always afford to take my animals there, but they are very good vets! I think Dr. Liebel is the best.

This vet was overpriced, provided poor quality care, skipped low cost but critical mechanical examination in favor of high priced diagnostics, and then lied about the matter when confronted with her error. If you want a beautiful waiting room and facilities, this is the place to go. But expect to pay as if you were in Beverly Hills. We took our cat into Clinton Animal Hospital because he stopped eating and started vomiting. We were impressed with Dr. Michael's communication ability, and the manner in which she told us what she was looking for as she examined our cat. The doctor mentioned that the problem might have been caused by ingesting a string, and tried to examine the underside of our cat's tongue by wedging a pen in his jaws. When this failed, she ceased to examine his tongue. She ordered an xray, and recommended a course of diagnostic treatment totaling over $400. This facility charged $30 for an anti-nausea treatment that costs $6 elsewhere in Lawrence. We took the cat to Dr. Ermeling at Gentle Care vet the following day, who gave him "a little laughing gas" and found a nylon string around the base of his tongue connected to a wad of string in the stomach. She used a scope to remove the string and sent us on our way for $203. Meanwhile, when we returned to Clinton Animal Hospital to get a refund for the $80 we were charged for a radiologist who never viewed our xray, the tech volunteered--before we told her about the string-- that Dr. Michael claimed that she had offered to anesthetized our cat to check for string around the tongue and we had refused. This was flatly untrue. We could only conclude that Dr. Michael knew that a string was likely the cause of the problem, yet prematurely gave up on direct inspection of the tongue and recommended a battery of expensive tests instead. We have an estimate of all procedures she recommended in writing, and anesthetization for inspection of the mouth was not one of them. We would have gladly had her inspect the tongue, as we were glad to have the other vet do so. If you want a beautiful waiting room and well tended grounds, this is an excellent place. If you think paying high dollar equals high quality, this is the place. If you want expert and ethical care, look elsewhere.

I was very impressed with our first visit. We have had 3 other local vets, and I'm sure we have found the right one. When Dr Michael walked in the room our dog was comfortable with her, and our dog has previously been very nervous with other vets. Our dog has had almost constant ear infections her whole life. We have been prescribed different medicines, and they never clear it up. Dr Michael took a swab of both ears (not done by any other vet) and said that the medicine our dog had been using would not clear up the problem. She then got us the correct medicine to clear up our dogs ears. Our dog had a couple of other problems that required prescriptions, and they told us that the prescriptions fell under the $4 prescriptions at a local pharmacy. We had great service and appreciatied them saving us money.

They did a great job of taking care of her and we would use them again any time we need to be away for more than a day. We have the utmost confidence in the care she receives at this business.

I've been taking my Australian Shepherd mix to Dr. Liebl and Dr. Olson at CPAH for several years now, and have been more impressed with the service received than at any other vet's office I have visited in the past. The exams are very thorough and the doctors and staff are friendly. Their fees tend to be a little higher than some other vet's, but I have found it well worth it for the excellent care and facilities they provide.
