Overall sloppy and unprofessional work. My house is roughly 100 years old, and the previous paint job did not adhere well. I spent a fair amount of time before we signed the contract asking questions and thought they understood the peculiarities of old houses. Once the work began, the inital preparation, 1/2 day with a power washer, was insufficient. When I pointed out they were about to paint over loose paint, they more or less refused to do any hand work, which was what I suggested, and did quite a bit of damage to the siding with the power washer. They then left for a week to do another job, with my house stripped of paint. I should have fired them then. When they returned, the caulking, which I had to pay extra for, was not particularly well done. Actually, anything above eye level, preparation, caulking, and painting, was very poorly done. The guy running the job did virtually no inspection of the work, so I spent a lot of time on a ladder, and then calling things to his attention. They broke a large storm window, the excessive power washing packed debris behind storm windows, which I had to pay to have cleaned, they rarely worked more than 1/2 days, which became an issue when we got into extra work. There were numerous other, mostly minor, issues. When they started reinstalling the storm windows and were botching that, I let them go.
