On the consignee's end (that's me), this story reeks of the Keystone Kops. 1) Delivery was after my Required Delivery Date. Indeed, had I not intervened and picked the article up at the UPS service center in the KC West Bottoms, the case would have become a "white elephant" as my son left the next morning. 2) The delivery driver alleges he looked at the packing slip, but could not find Apartment 6 (mine) in my building. He claims there were only 4 units in my stairwell. Let's see... 2 floors, 3 doors on a floor... that's 6 units! 3) I finally decided UPS had not attempted a delivery that day to my complex; I drove down to the shipping center. First the Dispatcher said "the truck will be back from its run by 8"...then he said "well, maybe it'll be here by 8:20", then he left. I found, by sheer accident, a manager: He in turn found a supervisor to track the matter. They finally determined the truck would be at the yard by 8:40PM. 4) Well, the truck did get to the yard by 8:40PM. I signed for the case, out only 2 1/2 hours of my time, an evening with my son, dinner, and a couple gallons of gas.
