Scott Bly and his crew did a fabulous job on our brick patio repair. The highest compliment I can give is they truly treated our job like it was their own. The crew were always on time, professional, courteous, cleaned up each day before they left, and the communication throughout the four-day project was exemplary. The original approximately 350 square foot patio was set in sand and the bricks had shifted. They removed the bricks, hauled off the original pea gravel base, put down new AB-3 crushed rock, tamped it down, reset and placed EVERY brick with a level and rubber mallet, then applied a polymeric sand. During the project Scott and James suggested incorporating about 90 additional bricks that they cut to improve the appearance of a straight edge on one side of the patio. Thrilled with the final outcome. Done right, done on time and for a fair price! Can't ask for more than that. I've actually tried to think of other landscape/hardscape projects we might have in the future to ask Scott to work with us again.

It was a very good experience. The owner was very prompt. When I called them he came out the next day in the rain and gave me an estimate and made some suggestions which I liked and you know he had a crew here couple of guys and he also worked sometimes. They were very efficient and I would use them again.

Scott quickly returned a call to my phone message. He was arrived on time to develop the project plan and gave the bid within a couple of days. Once we gave him approval he started on the project and completed the project on time.

This was the third time I've used Scott Bly in a 1-year period, so I'm clearly a fan of his work.
I called Scott and asked for a relatively low-maintenance but attractive design for the front, and both sides of our house. He was very responsive and was at my house a day or two later to discuss it. Over a 2-3 week period Scott worked to propose ideas and come-up with estimates. He was very patient with my wife and I as we made multiple changes to the design. He proposed a number of plants we were already considering, and he was open to our suggestions. He also explained a good deal about why we should pick certain plants. For example, he explained that knockout roses were much hardier and resistant to disease than other varieties of roses. This was important information to us so we really appreciated it.
We finally agreed on a design and decided to move forward. One thing that I noticed was missing was a signed contract. Scott didn't require any money down to begin work on a $3,700 project which is a good sign that he has working capital and isn't living paycheck to paycheck. However, I always feel a signed contract is best for both parties in the event something goes wrong. I'm certain it’s a hassle for the vendor as changes always occur during the job, but I would have liked to have had one. If the project had been over $5,000 I would have required one and I recommend others do the same. Luckily, everything went fine.
Scott's crew arrived on the agreed date and time and immediately got to work. The crew was very courteous and professional. When digging the beds for the new landscaping, they routinely asked for our input to double-check we agreed with it. They also worked fast and hard. They quickly pulled-out shrubs and a tree that would take me days to get out on my own. Over the next two days they installed the black edging, graded the soil and added topsoil, and installed the plants and mulch. They also put down weed preventer and root fertilizer. Before leaving, they cleaned-up the entire area and yard and left the landscaping looking very clean and professional. Scott asked multiple times if we were okay with everything, so he obviously cares about his work.
For the price, I think we got a very good deal. I live between Leawood and Overland Park, and most other landscapers attempt to tack-on 20-30% more to their bids just because of my location. I don't feel that Scott did that. He gave me a very fair price and did an excellent job. I'd recommend him for both landscaping and drainage.

This was the second time I had Scott out to install drainage in my yard in 2012. He did a good job on the first project, so I was confident he would do the same here - and he did. Project started on-time and only took 1 day to complete which is what Scott had projected. Everyone was timeley and professional. I ran a hose into the sump well to test it and everything worked exactly the way it was supposed to. Scott's team did a good job of returning the soil and grass to its original location so I didn't wind-up with dead grass all summer. They also did a good job of cleaning-up so there were no clumps of soil lying around the yard.
One week after this project, we experienced 5" of rain over a 30 hour period. The drainage worked perfectly. In fact, it was working so well that I observed my sump pump wasn't working as hard as it had to in the past. The drainage was moving the water away from the house so well, the sump pump had less to deal with. I also noticed the large "lake" that would normally form in my back yard after a heavy rain was gone.
I'm extremely pleased with Scotts drainage work in my yard. He's helped me fix a lot of water-related problems and he charges a very fair rate. I'd highly recommend him for drainage work.

They did a good job. The drainage install did not work the first time as it had a leak in one of the pipe connections. However, Scott's team came right back out and fixed it the next morning. I was impressed with Scott's response because it was close to the holidays and most contractors would want to delay until after the holidays. He seemed very concerned about the quality of his work and that I was 100% happy with it. The price was very fair and the work that they did was good value for the money.
I would definitely use Scott again in the future for exterior drainage projects.

Scott arrived on time, surveyed the situation, listened to my requests for low maintenance items and my primary objective. He developed a plan and emailed to me, per my request. I approved the work and a date was set. I arrived back at my home as the work was being completed. Everything was great. They even hung a wrought iron decorative door for me, as a focal point (not a door). It looks great and my neighbors have all commented on how nicely the house is shaping up with new roof, new paint, new landscaping, etc. Scott has done several jobs for me at the various places I've lived and I continue to trust his work and recommend him with confidence.

The lawn service guy started the work yesterday, but he is doing a lot of work. However, it has been good so far. He does a good job and he cleans up after himself. He uses Kansas State Agricultural information to do his lawn work, and he is a master gardener. He used to work for a nursery for years. The price that he charges is expensive. The quality of his work is good. I am going to use his services in the future too.

I've been dealing with Scott since the mid 90s, and he's always been very responsive, customer-oriented, clean, and thorough. They did something rather outside of the box last time and there was a minor misunderstand, but it was handled and everything was fine.

Very well. Diagnosed, made a correction. Called back because correction failed. No charge to do more work and finally fix the poorly installed sump pump outflow.
