Tried numerous times to reach Arturo. He never came back out. Never answers our calls.
He said he is licensed and insured. When I called about his insurance he would not give any inane. I cannot find a license or any insurance on him or his company.
When the materials had arrived, they were incorrect. The rocks that came in were not what I requested and I pointed this out to him. He told me I did not request the rocks I wanted and stated it would cost extra. I pointed out the correct rocks were on the original bid and included in the estimate (a total of $10,200.00). The fencing that came in was also incorrect, but his team had already started installing it. When I brought this to his attention, he agreed that it was the wrong fencing and ordered to have it taken down. In doing so, they broke one of the french drains they had just installed.
I pointed this out to him and he told me he was aware of it and would fix it. Several days later he returned and replaced the broken drain with a pipe that was incorrect. I stated what he was using would not allow the system to drain, but he tried to assure me the water would just evaporate. I later had another contractor come out to investigate the drainage system, as it was making my yard swampy and infested with mosquitoes. He explained the french drain was and quot;drainingand quot; uphill, and thus not draining at all.
I finally told him I did not want him to do anymore work and would not have him install a sprinkler system as my yard had become a swamp. I originally paid him $5,000 down for the job. He agreed with my decision and would refund me that Friday. I never received any communication, nor will he answer any of my attempts to communicate. I have hired a lawyer and will be proceeding with this case.
The owner of this business is a very nice guy, so much so, I had referred him to several friends and neighbors before he even began the work. I later found out he never returned any of the requests of these referrals. He may be a nice guy, but he does very, very poor work.
After this experience, I have left one completed flower bed that was not finished as I had requested, a failed french drain causing yard dampness, and no fencing around my yard.
