Durrell did a great job on all of the work.  He was responsive, professional, on time, up beat, and generally great to work with.  The job took approximately 5 days.  He did all of his cutting work outside to limit the mess.  The result is impressive, very precise and attractive. We had a problem with the floor grout not turning out as dark as we hoped.  Durrell came back within a week, removed the grout and re-did the floor grout to achieve the look we wanted, at no cost.  We plan to use him again and would recommend him to others.

We called the company because they were on The Tile Shop's recommended vendor list. I have since called and told The Tile Shop I would strongly recommend they be removed from their recommended list based upon the extremely poor workmanship we experienced. Here are examples:

  • We've since found out they didn't reinstall the subfloor before putting concrete board down so the tile is moving and the group is cracked all over. It started cracking 90 days after it was installed.
  • The marble threshold was "half a$$" installed and my husband had to dig it out of there and regrout it.
  • The floor tile didn't butt up against the wall tile so we had to buy marble thresholds to try and cover the gap left due to their poor measurement and execution.
  • We had to mark 15+ spots twice with post it notes where grout was missing.
  • We asked to have them install a shelf in the wall cut out. They communicated they were going to glue it in and The Tile Shop person said that was a really bad idea b/c you can't take it out, clean it, etc. I asked them to drill a hole and use shelf hangers. They did and didn't drill the holes remotely level so the shelf is crooked. So crooked you can see it very easily with the naked eye.
  • They broke a handful of glass tile and just grouted right over top of it. We had them come out and replace them.
  • They installed the shower diverter backwards so the hot was the cold, etc. The new toilet was also installed incorrectly so it leaked. Consequently, we had to spend another $300 getting a plumber to fix their mistakes.
  • The pedastal sink we reused wouldn't drain at first. We figured out (after taking it apart) that there were several 1" pieces of tile shoved down in the drain that weren't cleared out so it was unable to drain.
  • They didn't mask off anything so our entire house had tile dust everywhere. Our basement storage area was covered in tile dust and large chunks of debris that they failed to clean up or at least minimize the need for cleaning by masking off an area.

Do NOT use this vendor. You'd be much better off doing it yourself.

We had lifestyle custom tile tile a bathroom in our basement renovation, both walls and floor. Despite having discussed it with me multiple times, he ended up using the wrong grout joint size (1/8 instead of 1/6).  By the time I realized his mistake, it was too late to stop work without having wasted hundreds of dollars of materials. When tiling the walls, he stopped short of the ceiling by about 1/2 inch and then filled the entire 1/2 in with crappy caulk that looks terrible. We are in the tedious process of tearing it out now. On the floor, the workmanship was even worse. They left a 1/2 gap between the edge of the tile and the shower pan that was not grouted in and then either took with them or threw away the remaining grout, leaving us with nothing to fill this huge gap. They were nice guys, but all in all the work was substandard and we feel like we wasted our money. We chose not to DIY in hopes of getting a more high end professional look.  It looks worse than if we had done it ourselves.  Eventually we'll have to tear it all out and redo it if we want it to look nice.  Very disappointing.

They were the best. They were one of the best experiences I had. Their prices were really good. I spent $1300 on that work. Even though they are a small company, they did quality work just like any other big company. They were on time and showed up right away whenever I called him. I had a great experience.
