D and L Construction

Description of Work: D and L Construction is a fraud. Larry Shannon the "contractor" if you even want to call him that claims he has years of contruction experience and that he provides A+ quality work. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Larry was given a relatively medium sized remodel job at my property in Kansas City, KS. He was assigned to do tile work, sheet rock repair including texturing the walls, install cabinets, painting, and trim work. Let's start from the beginning. I should have known things were going to go bad from the beginning when Larry was first hired to do the sheet rock repair and texturing. The sheet rock repair itself was ok... but when he started texturing I thinkg he must have had too many beers because he sprayed ALL of the doors and trim. It would have been one thing if he had wiped it off when the texture was wet, but he just left it on to dry. He spent more time cleaning it off the trim and doors than he did working on the sheetrock. If I hadn't called him out on it he probably would have just painted right over it. Moving on to the cabinets. What a disaster that was. I had to show him how to install them like three different times. He couldn't follow the 3D diagram Home Depot provided. This guy is a complete moron. The tile work that he did is cracking at all of the grout joints because he didn't use backer board. Duhhh!!! My favorite part of Larry's work was the trim work. Einstein didn't realize that trim around the windows goes fat side out and thin side in and did it the opposite direction. He proceeded to blame his helper. When Larry was ready to paint, I think he might have hit his head before he started because he just started painting everything including the lights!!! He said, "oh I'll just have one of my guys clean it off." After Larry spent 4 weeks making more work for me at my job site, I had to fire him. When I asked him if I could have a refund, he said "nope." When I said you're a real stand up guy, he replied "stand up guy, where in the contract does it say that?" Looking at Larry's description of his business on Angie's List, I have to wonder if he is even talking about his own business? He says "stand behind our work" and "100% guarantee or your money back" and "we are a company who cares", well this part may be true because they only care about getting paid no matter what kind of condition they leave your house in. DO NOT HIRE D and L Construction. You will regret it if you do. I promise you that.
