Mr. Simpson was over eager to work for me. He stated that he was a professional in masonary work. He was to apply a new surface to the steps to my house and to a poorly done patio. He also was to replace the sidewalk from my house to the public sidewalk. He was to prepare and spread decorative landscape rock around the flower and shrubs in my yard. Mr. Simpson told me that due to financial difficulties, he would need money up front to buy materials. Mr. Simpson first tried to resurface the steps, but did a very poor job. It seemed apparent that he did not know how to do concrete work. He left this unfinished. He then began to prepare the flower and shrub beds, but again made a mess out of what he did. He again had to have money up front to buy the materials for this. He then asked for the money to buy the landscape rock. He was given the money but not seen again for several days. When he came back he said he needed money for the rock. I told him that I had already given him the money and he said that he had to spend it on other things but that I shouldn't worry because anything I gave him would come off the agreed upon price. I gave him the money and called the company to confirm that he bought the rock and that it was to be delivered to my house. It was delivered the next day. I spoke to Mr. Simpson and told him that there was a lot of work to be done before he could spread the rock. He became irate, accusing me of treating him like a slave. He stated that he did not work for anybody and hung up on me. I spent three weeks trying to contact him with negative results. He finally called me and told me that he would not be back, that he would be keeping the money and that I could hire someone else to do the workl
