I originally selected Braden Roofing because I had noticed the very high quality of their work done on my neighbor?s house. Since then I?ve had the pleasure of working with Braden Roofing for several years. The company most recently made a major repair to my roof.
Braden Roofing is owned and operated by Kevin Castaner, one of the most honest, ethical and competent business people I have ever worked with. He and his employees work at the highest standard of excellence. Their work was finished on time, all debris wasremoved and the quality of their work is absolutely superb. Braden and his crews have earned my complete trust.
I would highly recommend Braden Roofing.
Most Sincerely,
David Guthrie

He was courteous, intelligent, and sincerely wanted to figure it out, even if it did not lead to his 'getting business.
when I need a new roof, I'll be calling him
On 6/9/2014 a contract of sale inspection report on indicated that there was signs of mold observed in the attic. The Inspection report required "Sellers have Braden Roofing correct the attic ventilation so that conditions don't continue that are causing mold to grow."
On 6/26/2014, Braden Roofing sent an email stating: "This letter is to verify that Braden Roofing completed the repair work to alleviate mold issue in the attic..."
On 7/8/2014, Deborah Castaner of Braden Roofing, conceded via email that Deborah had previously informed both the home buyer's agent and my wife, that "if it is our fault, we will take care of it."
On 7/8/2014, Deborah Castaner of Braden Roofing offered to cover only $600 of the $1610 mold remediation cost from a certified mold remediation service provider. The $600 offer coincides with Braden's subcontractor negligence insurance coverage.
Braden Roofing justification for not covering the entire $1610 cost is that there is insufficiant documentation of fault, even though Braden Roofing was provided a contract of sale inspection report, 2 independant certified mold remediation service providers proposals all stating that the cause of mold was associated to roof installation negligence.
For me, the most significant documentation was Braden Roofing's own letter to me stating: "This letter is to verify that Braden Roofing completed the repair work to alleviate mold issue in the attic..."
"There are so many inaccuracies and deceptions in this report that it is difficult to even begin… Braden Roofing will ALWAYS work with customers who have good faith concerns. However, it is very difficult to work with individuals who lie and abuse the good faith process. As we will see, [Member's name removed] is a liar and a cheat. Regarding the ridge vent: Braden Roofing has found that a wider aperture on a ridge vent will sometimes allow snow to filtrate into an attic, especially if a house has inadequate intake venting. Intake venting refers to soffit vents. Soffit vents were NOT part of the original roof contract, but we did notate the recommendation to improve soffit venting at the time. [Member's name removed] chose to ignore this advice. In our experience, it is the lack of soffit vents which is a key factor in venting issues. In our desire to keep customers happy, we offered to install new soffit vents free of charge, even though this was not even part of the original contract. [Member's name removed] accepted this offer and we installed the soffit vents. You’re welcome, [Member's name removed] You’re so welcome. We also widened the ridge vent aperture free of charge. Most customers would understandably be very pleased. Not [Member's name removed] Instead, he used the opportunity to shake down Braden Roofing for mold remediation. The proposal for $1610 from the mold remediation company just didn’t look right… We smelled a rat (or was it [Member's name removed] ?) so we contacted a reputable mold expert who told us that a typical attic remediation should run closer to $600. We offered a $600 refund, even though we did not believe we were responsible for the mold problem. Investigating closer, we discovered that [Member's name removed] mold remediation company was also performing mold remediation work in the basement of the same house. About that time, [Member's name removed] real estate agent also sent us a proposal from THE SAME COMPANY that [Member's name removed] had quoted at $1610, but the (presumably undoctored) second proposal was for only $600. I must say at this point I pretty much had [Member's name removed] pegged as an opportunistic liar and cheat."
