My home warranty company referred me to APW, and I'm sorry they did. Absolutely the worst experience with any trade that I have had in my life. I wanted our shower to stop leaking and the toilet to stop running randomly. Instead it turned into a shower valve, a toilet flapper and a pressure regulator valve (PRV). The home warranty would only cover the flapper and the PRV, but not the shower valve. I wanted the work done that the home warranty would cover, understanding that I would be left to pay for the shower valve. I asked APW for a quote. Turns out they were suddenly unwilling to fix the shower valve (by replacing the worn parts) as they said they would do prior to learning home warranty wouldn't cover it . After that was denied, they now say I needed an entirely new valve. To get that done, it would cost $125 to open up the wall and $400+ for the new valve and installation. Would they fix the wall afterwards? Patch the hole? Drywall mud the seam? Paint to match? No. For $125 all I get is a hole in the wall.
Now, after the original appointment and having receiving approvals from home warranty, I scheduled two appointments to get the PRV and flapper replaced. Both appointments were cancelled. One cancelled 30 minutes -after- the scheduled time (after I'd taken off from work and was already at home waiting). The next time they called and left voicemail (minutes before their office closed) saying they didn't order parts and were unable to keep the appointment for the next day. When I called back the next day, no one in the office could even attempt to resolve things. I had to wait 4 hours until the one member of the office staff who knew "the situation" came in. Turns out they were waiting on the parts for the shower valve -- work neither I nor the Home Warranty company approved. Now they could no longer keep the appointment -- again after I had already taken off from work.
They have hung up on me. They didn't return my calls. And after 29 days waiting to have one valve and a toilet flapper replaced -- finally the home warranty company conference called us and the best they would offer is another day off of work and a new appointment that I certainly don't trust them to keep. I'm not stupid. Thankfully, the home warranty company was willing to refer my claim to a different plumbing company who will be here on Tuesday. (I hope).
Needless to say, I will never deal with APW again, nor will the people where I work who have heard the whole event through my phone calls. I signed up with Yelp simply because --no one-- should have to go through what I've been through with APW. I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.

Update 4/16/2015
So the other plumber came out on Tuesday (on time). He inspected the PRV which HAD NOT failed. Instead he showed me how it was adjusted incorrectly, and I helped as he adjusted it. The home warranty company approved repairing the shower valve this time (since the PRV had not failed, so it wasn't "consequential" damages). This plumber had the parts in his van and fixed the valve (not replaced). And he installed a new toilet flapper. 90 minutes with this new plumber would have saved me over a month back and fourth with APW. I should have dumped them sooner.
