Amazing Changes Home Renovations

I hired him on May 7th, 2010. The contract stated that the work should be completed on June 10, 2010. He requested that I give him the money up front. He redid the roof and then disappeared for 3 weeks. When he returned he told me that he had been in Mexico seeing his grandmother, but he was not in Mexico the days he says he was. I expressed to him that I didn't want him to work for me anymore and he said that I would have to pay him for the gutters whether I took them or not. I obviously didn't want to be out the money for the gutters so I told him that he could drop them off. I came home from the hospital and he had already installed the gutters, without letting me pick out the color I wanted. The trim on my home is a light cream and he hung yellow gutters. They look terrible. When he did the roofing work my son went up and looked at the roof and saw that they had used some torn shingles. My son called them and made them come back out to fix the roof. I originally planned to have him paint the back of my house and the side of my house as well. He was also going to get new screen for my windows. In addition to that, he said he was going to talk to my insurance company so that I could get the air conditioner repaired. He was also supposed to paint my shed. I paid him the $7728.00, and he hasn't done enough of the work for me to pay him that much. In addition to the work not being completed, he has caused a lot of stress for me. I have talked with several other roofing companies in the area and they said that my roof should cost less than $5,000.00. This is not the proper way to run a business, he has terrible customer service.
