Arlon Fishburn

I  liked this gentleman and he did a good job but I ended up paying him $100.00 more than what he quoted because I felt he under bid himself for what the job truly entailed.  He painted my kitchen, which is small as I live in a condo, and he painted over the wallpaper (which I had asked him to do).  He prepped the walls very well and did a great job.  What bothered me is that he used my spackling and my step ladder (which was brand new and did so without asking me)  At the end he asked for four more dollars as he had to go and buy more spackling and this was after I had paid him $100.00 more than he had originally asked for.  I had understood that he would provide all materials (except paint) to finish the job as quoted.  Maybe I'm being a bit snippish here but I was taken aback when he had asked for more money to finish the job at hand when he should have come prepared to do the job as quoted.  I had paid him the extra money, he did not ask for it, because he is an elderly gentleman and I know he needed the money, but to have the nerve to ask for four more dollars kind of ticked me off a bit.  If this does not bother you then please hire him as he does do a good job.  I haven't done a review on him before now because he is elderly and maybe I've been a bit too h****** him but I was a bit put off on how everything was handled.  I would make sure that everything is completely understood as to who is to supply what before the job is started and then I think all would go well.  I thought I had done that but maybe it was only understood on my part.  I'm not so sure.

He is very reasonable, has good prices and does good work. He also is extremely honest. I will use him again in the future.
