He never answers phone calls, never responds to messages, and never returned to finish the job. His wife returned 2 of my calls to her personal cell phone, and she said he told her the job was completed. In the end, she told me she has no control over him. Another thing is that the original estimate was $315, which I repeated to him and he affirmed. When I paid him it was $375. When I said I thought it was $315 he said, no. I can understand how $315 might be mistaken for $350 but not for $375. But I wanted the job done so I didn't make a big deal out of that.
Description of Work: We had an oral contract with Brandon Hutto, owner of Spartan Hauling, to haul off jackhammered concrete debris down to the sand layer. He left about 1/3 of the job unfinished. Only one small corner of the area was actually taken down to sand. We, in good faith, gave him payment up front (for our own convenience). After multiple phone calls, he finally responded when we called his workplace. He said he'd be out on Monday or Tuesday/Oct. 17 or 18 to finish. He never came.
