Suburban Tree Care

A contract was signed by both parties on 6/20/25 stating the removal of the tree and the stumps/grindings/tree chips for $5500. On 7/1/25 the two trees were removed but the stumps were not. Scheduled to return for stump removal/grindings on 7/10/25 stating that he needed more money to complete the project. Case #18812367 I accepted a bid from Suburban Tree Care (owner Chris Smith) for $5500 for complete removal of 2 maple trees from the backyard at 9203 W 112th Ter, OP, KS 66210. This project included total of 2 tree removals, stump grinding, chip & debris removal and adding dirt. They did a reasonable job removing the trees. Problems started when tree stumps, grindings and chips were not removed from the yard and no dirt added, per contract. Chris Smith said that he wanted more money to complete the project. After discussion I gave him an additional $500. The job was still not completed. This is a bait & switch technique when the original bid was for $5500. ($5000 was given before the project started and an additional $1000 was given 7/10/25 for the remainder of the payment and the additional agreed upon amount of an extra $500) Chris failed to return and finish the job and then after emailing asking when the job was going to be completed, stated that he wanted more money for "dirt and labor". Chris also failed to provide a receipt for the additional $1000 check he was given. The remaining wood chips are causing damage to the yard and can become a projectile hazard when mowing that can lead to injury and property damage. His crew was also not professional as they left cigarette butts in the yard. Chris's TORO tree machine broke down in the driveway and caused us not to be able to use the driveway/garage for 2-3 days.

Chris and his team were amazing! I cannot say enough about this company from the moment I met Chris through all the conversations, great and excellent communication, great responsiveness when other companies didnâ t even call back Chris came 2x to ensure that even us wanting to add to the project could be done and done the way we would want it with his knowledge as an arborist. His crew was amazing and some of the most professional workers I have met. They have a â do it well and rightâ mentality. Just amazing!

The work is okay. But the charges is way out of proportion. I was quoted a class C trim for $500. Due my ignorance, I signed the agreement. They used no equipment, not even a ladder, only a pole chain saw. Resulted two small piles of branches, nothing more than two inches. It took them less than 45 minutes. I email them twice and was ignored. Finally Chris returned my text. When I tried to communicate that I don't think the charges matches the work, he keeps interrupted me. FInally, he started to shout at me. The over all work is okay. But the charge is way over, according to many other tree services companies. The customer servce is probably the worst. I regret I hired this company.

Very hard, dedicated professionals. They were respectful of my property and treated it like their own. They know their trees. I got more than what Chris and I talked about. If they saw that other trees needed trimming, they got trimmed. No trash was left behind. No loud music was played. It was a great experience. And my property looks fabulous! Chris was in contact communication with me at all times. Excellent to work with.

I had an Oklahoma RedBud that needed some needed some overdue trimming. The Suburban team did a great job from a very reasonable price! I would definitely hire them again.

They were very responsive, getting me a bid right away! The owner was very knowledgeable and informative about the different options available and gave me great advice about what to do regarding the health of my trees in regards to whatâ s best for getting them trimmed. The bid was extremely competitive and the work was done in a timely fashion. My trees look great! I highly recommend them!!!
