This was the second project that Dans team did for us in our front yard. His team rebuilt a small retaining wall and extended it slightly for a more esthetic look. The team was very communicative and kept us posted on install. I never had to call to ask what was going on or the time frame. I would definitely hire them again.

From first contact with Dan, all the way through to the end of the project, we knew were in good, caring hands. Even with a slight miscommunication concerning what needed to be done, Dan went above and beyond, assuring us that our happiness with the work being done was his biggest priority! Every day his crew arrived 15 minutes early, working hard and efficiently to finish in record time. My husband and I have waited 20 years to have a yard we could be proud of and thanks to Dan and his crew our dream has become a reality! We would highly recommend Gordon’s Landscaping to anyone looking to improve their outdoor spaces!

Dan, Oren, Jacob, Bobby and Aaron did a phenomenal job on our landscaping job!!!! They installed a beautiful block wall on our sloped front yard (see picture), laid landscape rock in our ditch to help prevent further erosion, brought in fill and sod around our concrete where water had washed dirt away at the edge, increased the size of the beds around our trees so they match the drip edge of the trees, doubled the size of a shade garden, refreshed the mulch all the way around the house, ran drain lines to control the downspout and sump pump water and the list goes on... This would have taken us forever! These guys really hustled, completing this major update in a little over one day. This was money well spent. We will be bringing them back for our next big project idea! MANY THANKS Gordan's Landscaping team!!!

Thank you to Gordon's Lawn and Landscape for helping me achieve the backyard of my dreams! Dan was extremely courteous from the very beginning. He listened to my landscaping ideas, sketches and ensured that the entire process was one that I was completely satisfied with. He was attentive, punctual, professional, and completely client-focused. His crew was just as exceptional! His crew manager and team were very polite, attentive to my ideas and thoughts about the project, and ALWAYS respectful of my plans for the yard. They said, "Whatever you want, is what we will do!" His crew always cleaned up and made sure that it was done just as I wanted it. A HUGE thank you to the entire team!

Work was completed quickly and efficiently. It is now 3 years later and he still stands behind his work. When the grate at the end of the drain came off due to heavy rains, he came out and replaced it, free of charge, no questions asked. Absolutely would hire again and highly recommend!

They were very responsive, showed up when they said they would, had a large crew, solicited feedback and did a great job.

Crew was consistently punctual and pleasant to work/visit with. Crew was extremely polite and respectful, not only to the homeowners but to their property. Owner (Dan) was regularly on-site and was also very pleasant to work with. Dan was thorough in explaining how the crew would be installing the drains. Crew members even took precautions to avoid damage to major tree roots when homeowners expressed concerns. We would highly recommend Dan and his crew members.

Dan and his crew did a great job. He kept me informed during the project and even sent me photos of critical decisions such as locations of the french drain connections. Dan also found a dead end gutter connection from a previous install and repaired it by properly connecting it into the french drain.

Excellent work, highly recommend this company. Showed up to work on time, workmanship was very professional. Dan's communication was great, we talked about each phase of work and he always asked if we were happy with everything. He was also very reasonable with his bid. We will call him again if we need more work done. We love our new patio and sidewalk! Thanks again Dan and guys!!!

Not sure what exactly what you want here. But I had no problems with the work that was done. I am extremely happy with the work.
Have already received some compliments on it. The gentlemen were very nice and informative when asked a question. This is the second time I have used Gordon's Landscaping and was pleased both times. The first time was at my first house and had them do the bricks and rocks around the front and both sides. Received a lot of compliments on it.

Dan from Gordon's Lawn and Landscape is an absolute pleasure to work with. He explained the scenario to us and the fix. A few buried downspouts later and a french drain, the problem is fixed. I know its fixed as we had several inches of rain here after work completed and it all drains away from my home now:-)

I am normally not the type to leave reviews, but Dan and his team were great. He took the time to make sure he knew exactly what I wanted and made sure it was within my budget. Dan and his team arrived on time and I was very impressed with how it turned out. The fire pit/patio area exceeded my expectations.

Dan gave me a bid and a time frame to complete the job. Work was completed on time and for the price that was estimated. I have used Gordon's Landscaping previous to this but never took the time to do a review. I should have but here's why I am today. Dan came and replaced one of the bushes that was looking kinda dead, several weeks after planting. Here's the kicker....I never asked him to.... He noticed it was looking bad while doing another job down the street and took it upon himself to replace. I thought the boxwood just got better on its own, until my wife told me he replaced it while I was at work one day. She thought I asked him to replace, I didn't. Its hard to find a contractor that does what they say they will and on time. Let alone one that goes above and beyond. We look forward to using his services again in the future.

Dan
and his crew redid our entire garden in front of our home. We went from a
few bushes in front of the house to a complete ?Zen Garden.? He came in
and worked with our design showed us where we could improve in a couple of
places and now we have the perfect Zen Garden with the appropriate plants, walking
stones, and statuary. Not only that, but Dan solved our drainage
problem. He took tubes installed them underground with gravel and ran the
excess rain water to a catch basin in back, We now can grow grass where
grass would not grow before.
If only every contractor I dealt with was like Dan, who did what he said he was
going to do and finished the project on time and on budget.
Thanks

We hired Dan Gordon to rebuild our patio and re-do our front walk and it was not a good experience. Dan seemed to be way out of his depth with our project and became difficult, combative, and disengaged as the project progressed. Old Patio Demo: Dan encountered a concrete slab under our old paver patio. He said he hadn’t counted on that and that he would have to charge more for the rental of equipment and labor it would take to remove the slab. He presented us with a cost increase of $4,440.00 for the extra work. It was worthwhile because we discovered there was a large void under the slab which at some point would have been a big problem. They did ok with this project but this put Dan in a position of being behind schedule. It wasn’t our fault and we paid top-dollar for the demo of the slab. He would later complain a lot about how far behind schedule he was and would cite this as one of the reasons. We paid for it so it was unfair of him to complain about this putting him behind. During this process he broke the edge of our driveway and tore up our grass. Work Begins: My father is an engineer with over 40 years of construction experience in both commercial and home construction. The man knows how things are supposed to be done. Before Dan started work I asked my father to describe the process. He said that it all starts with stringing the patio in a level grid to establish grade and proper fall for drainage. I also looked this up online and ever do-it-yourself video from Home Depot, Lowes and This Old House describes the exact same procedure. Dan did not do this. Dan wings his patios and hopes for the best. This lack of experience as a stonemason showed at every point of the project. The first few courses of stones that were laid were sloped towards the house. I did not take a picture of the level showing it out because I didn’t think the relationship with Dan would completely fall apart when I pointed it out. I asked my Dad to join me for the conversation with Dan in case Dan had any questions about how the patio should go because I knew my father could explain it better than me. They started chatting and Dan fell apart. He took it as a personal attack even though the intent was to have a good outcome for the patio and help correct the issues. We described what kind of fall we expected for the patio and Dan threw his arms up in the air and said “I can’t work with you guys coming at me!” “Why’s everybody coming at me?!”. We were not “coming at him”. My father and I are both business owners and were communicating in a calm, clear way but Dan’s fragile ego couldn’t take it. We tried to transition and asked Dan about the rise on the step of the second door (he had started at one door and would lay stone to the other door then create a step). He got really defensive and angrily said “I don’t know – you guys are asking me about step 300 and I’m on step one!!” If he understood how to properly string and lay out a grade for a patio he would have known exactly what the steps would be for the other door. This was not a good sign of things to come. After the discussion, my wife and I hung around inside the house to hear his reaction and he really cussed us. He said really horrible things about us to his crew and blamed them and made his crew mad at us. He played the victim, blamed his crew to their faces, and bad-mouthed us. Then Dan left again and left his crew to solve it. I should have fired him that day. The Pain Continues: After the discussion about the patio not starting well Dan agreed to re-do the first few courses to correct the grading issue. He tried to BS and say that “they were going to do it anyway” but his reaction said otherwise. The stones were in place, cut to fit, and tamped into place. They weren’t going to do anything about it. Dan’s crew were very rough with the pavers and broke a lot of corners and split a lot of stones in half. When we complained, Dan had a very defensive and harsh reaction and said that they would take up the broken stones later and fix them. I watched them remove the broken stones and it was a huge pain in the butt for them and a total waste of time. It was so labor-intensive I seriously doubt he’d have done it at the end. I’ve included a couple of pictures of their shoddy cuts and broken stones. My Wife: Dan was so combative and dismissive of my wife that he made her cry on several occasions. He would tell her one thing then me something else and try to play us against each other. I took over communications with him to shield her from his… ways. I should have fired him for this. “Step 1”: Dan didn’t know what he was doing with the stairs. We asked him for good fall on the patio away from the house and with the yard, but he went overboard on it (because he didn’t string it first) and we ended up with way more fall than is required which caused the steps to be crazy. One step had a difference in height from right to left of over an inch, creating a tripping hazard. I should have fired him for this. “Step 300”: Remember the other step I’d mentioned that he got flustered about? He was right; he hadn’t thought about that step at all. When they had stones laid within two feet of it he realized he was WAY off in patio-height to accommodate the steps, so he just built up sand and laid pavers. Over three feet there was a 2.5” bubble-like increase in height. This created the perfect tripping hazard to put someone face-first into a glass door. This also created an 11” step. When I told him that was too high and that max code was 7”, his response was “Oh, I didn’t know you wanted a ‘code’ step.” Yeah. Had he planned for the step and strung the patio so he knew where he’d be, this wouldn’t have happened. I made him do it over and he only agreed under thread of withholding payment. “Good” fall is considered to be 2” over 10’. Dan had made 2.5” over two feet; 10x the amount it should have been. This all could have been avoided if he’d learn to string a patio. The Front Walk: Dan didn’t want to finish it. He was whining and complaining on voicemails I have saved and text messages I screenshot that he was so far into the project and so far behind schedule that he didn’t want to do it (but he wanted to keep the money). He wanted to leave it half-done. I said that would not do and that he needed to finish the contract if he wanted to get paid. Well, he sure finished the walk – but did it in such an awful fashion it looks like crap. See the attached pic of how he left it. Half the stones of the path were dug in as we asked, and then he just threw down the rest. I was unhappy when I discovered this and demanded it was fixed or I would withhold payment. It came out horrible in the end but by that point Dan’s face was the last thing I wanted to see again so we just accepted it. We’ll have to pay another contractor to do this work over in the future because it looks so trashy. The Lawn: Dan killed a bunch of our grass and created large ruts in our yard with the machinery to haul out the demoed slab, as well as the machine that delivered the stone. He refused to do anything but throw down some seed. The Fence: In order to get the stones to the back yard, Dan and his crew removed a section of our fence including pulling out a post. That didn’t go well. When they put it back, they were either mad at us, or just unable to do it properly because they didn’t put it back exactly right because our gate does not close and latch without forcing it shut now. This is another thing he made worse that we will have to pay to have fixed. The Driveway: Dan’s crew chipped several places off the edge of our driveway because they were throwing the old stones down during demo. When I mentioned it they said “Oh yeah, we did that when we were throwing down the stones.” You can’t fix the edge of a driveway because it’ll come off in the first winter, so it’s another thing that is worse than when Dan started. The Interaction: Dan likes to give excuses. Ask for something and he immediately has an answer. Say something isn’t righ

"We at Gordon's Landscaping strive to have a perfect rating from every Customer we do business with. And until this week, for almost 20 years we did. I can't begin to tell you how much work it was to maintain the perfect rating. I uploaded pics of your finished job. (With your name on it) I'm not sure why you would post pics of unfinished work and issues we dealt with days before completion. All my other customers (see other reviews) loved their patios but I learned early on you wanted your father in charge of the project. I should have said then, very politely, I can't build patio that your father is in charge of, that's not how we do business. And if I could have found a way to gracefully back out of the project I would have. I appreciate the opportunity to work with you and I think the pictures of the job attest to the quality of my team's work. I wish you only the best in your future endeavors, I hope you find what you're looking for."

Dan and his crew are ? THE MEN? to use when you want it done right.
I had a rainage problem that was eroding my yard plus trees out of control and dead
landscaping.
I called Dan nd discussed what I wanted and he assured me they could do it and do it well. We set up an appointment which he appeared on time and went through what I wanted. Dan listened intently and asked questions to verify what I wanted so
that he could deliver what I had in mind.
We discussed several things and he offered suggestions and never once tried to sell me something I did not want or need. No pressure what so ever to use different materials etc...He did the estimate and I was happy with everything and told him I would have him do the work. He emailed me a formal contract for my approval and I accepted. Dan said it would be 1-1/2 weeks before he could get on the project because of other ones he had ahead of me. 1 week later he called and said they would be here on Monday. Monday morning Dan and his crew show up and we all went over what is planned.
The job just finished. WOW and I mean WOW
They removed 4 trees and ground down the stumps, tore down my existing walls and redesigned and reconstructed as we had discussed. Removed old bushes and scrubs, recountoured the ground the way I wanted put in dirt to level things out. Put in ew bushes plants and shrubs and installed the rocks. I wanted rocks instead of mulch and am very pleased with the results.
He then created a Hosta bed under our deck and placed rings around 2 large trees in the back yard. Contoured around the trees
and then placed rock in the Hosta bed and the tree rings. Plus hauled off a huge pile of brush.
Through the whole process I worked from home and Dan checked in several time to inform me where they were at in the project and what they were doing etc. No surprises what so ever. When we were done we did a final walk around and he wanted to make sure I was happy.
Dan?s crew is top notch. They are the most polite and courteous and respectful people I have ever met in the homebuilding landscaping industry. They work well with each other and each one knows the project and what has to be done. Great job guys
My wife was a skeptic of what I had planned but now she is ecstatic with the results.

I needed a French Drain installed along my back retaining
wall along with gutter drain work. I contacted Gordon?s and Dan came right out
to give me a quote. He said they could start in two weeks. He contacted me to
let me know that the utility locators would be arriving and that they were on
schedule.
Dan and three workers showed up in the morning. They dug out
the drainage area and laid corrugated pipe with gravel. They topped it off with
weed guard and very nice smooth river rock held back with a metal edging. They did fantastic work and even put down new
sod (I was not expecting this). They cleaned up their work area and asked if I
was satisfied.
I would definitely use Gordon?s again!
