It went horrible he cut up our $3500 carpet and cut in the wrong direction. He torn up the knock down and base board in one room putting tack strip down. He has all money and I have a very horrible house and the job is not complete yet! This is insurance claim and he would not give me the material receipts of the stuff he purchase with the material money I gave him. I would not have this guy in anyone's house please beware!
Description of Work: He sheet rocked over lath/plaster mud, tape sanded. He painted sprayed knockdown. He cut our carpet to lay which was cut all wrong. He painted the ceiling and walls which were a hit and miss painting job and he said he would touch up at the end, he quit before the end came. He would work 2-3 hours a day. Some days would even show up or call. The jobs he states he can do is everything...roof, carpet, sheet rock, mud, trim, paint, knockdown, floors of all types.

Response from Quality Custom Carpentry
I am certainly not the first contractor she has run off, her past contractors quit for similar reasons. I was warned about her by other area contractors & the local lumber yard from the get-go. She was home much of the time during the construction. She would make small talk for hours & at times make flirtatious and sexual commit's, making it difficult to produce work in a timely & comfortable fashion. She allowed her young daughter to run in & out of the construction area that was blocked off by plastic for dust control, this too made it difficult to work. Work was done one or two rooms at a time per her request as they were living in the house during the construction. There were a few days work could only be done for a few hours at a time because mud & or paint had to dry before work could resume, this was explained to her. I offered my services to move her furniture around, she declined. Work could not be done the days she didn't have the furniture moved out of the room. She pressured me to commit insurance fraud for her financial gain. She wanted me to place fraudulent charges on the invoices such; moving furniture, hanging borders and windows & claiming there was more water damage then there really was. When I told her no, her attitude towards me changed. Upon returning from lunch break on May 27,20 I0 she was belligerently yelling, cussing & insulting me about the unfinished trim, At that point I respectfully explained to her that enough was enough and I could no longer do business under theses circumstances. She refused to let me leave her property with my tools and trailer. She blocked my trailer in with her truck, I asked her to move; it, she refused. I had to call the El Dorado Police Department to the site. Officer Scott ordered her to move her truck & allow me to leave with my tools & trailer. Officer Scott also did a walk through of the house before I left, the police report will verify that she had no further complaints at that time. All of her materials were left at her house. She claims: The carpet was cut incorrectly. My rebuttal: The carpet was cut correctly and ready to be installed when the incident causing work to stop happened. The next day her friend called me asking how to install the carpet, after my explanation he still didn't understand, clearly he is not a professional. Her carpet installation went bad simply because she allowed a nonprofessional to install it. She claims: Trim wasn't complete. My rebuttal: She complained before the work was completed. The pre-existing trim still required touch up caulking and paint before it could be re-installed, as I respectably explained to her after her insulting commits and her belligerent cussing fit. The completed trim in the other rooms was done the same way and she had no complaints after seeing the final result. She claims: She wants her material recipes. My rebuttal: I offered copies and explained to her the material deposit she made goes on the company books as construction income, the materials purchased show on company books as construction expenses. Therefore the receipts belong to the company for federal and state tax purposes. I pride myself on honesty and customer satisfaction, most of my work comes from repeat customers and good word of mouth. I have never quit or been fired by a customer before. The work preformed for her was a repair job that included eleven rooms. Repairs were needed because of water damage caused from an open and exposed roof her husband attempted to install himself. She had other contractors repairing her house before I ever started. In my professional opinion some of the prior work preformed by other contractors was incorrectly done. I will not be held responsible for work & or damages done by other contractors, her friends. & or her family. She had an unpaid balance of $2,60 1.75. The remaining material deposit was applied to her past due amount, leaving $1,751.52 balance due. I request she pays her balance before further collection action is necessary. James Parnell-Owner
