Hair Salons/Barbers
Yes, I recommend this pro
$70
I've used this salon for almost 2 years, so I have a "continuing client" perspective:
I almost always arrive a few minutes prior to my appointment, which is usually in the morning or early afternoon.  There wasn't anyone to greet me, though the nail tech did ask who I was there to see and let me know my stylist wasn't in just yet.  I only waited a few minutes.  I'm not sure how to describe the vibe of the waiting area.  I think they're going for vintage, eclectic chic with maybe a little cowboy/country thrown in because they had some relics available.  Very sparsely decorated and not a cohesive space.  Once again, I did try out the vintage chartreuse-green chairs they have in the waiting area and although the style is retro chic, they are not comfortable.  They do have a few products for sale, which I browsed to pass the time.  If they're looking for an "A" grade on reception from me, they'll have to add quiet background music, decent seating, offer beverages, and staff a receptionist at the front desk at all times (just like the big city salons).
I noticed a "price increase" memo taped to the front desk, but one never knows what the cost of a service might be as it depends on which stylist or massage therapist or nail tech you end up seeing.  I've asked for a service menu with descriptions and prices, but they've never had one available (printed or online), and there wasn't anyone to ask this time.  For awhile, they were posting the specials offered on a blackboard, but I didn't see any this time.  In the past those specials were *not* salon-wide, but specific to a certain stylist or therapist.
When my stylist arrive, she greeted me and accompanied me upstairs to the hair salon services area. FYI--I have noticed a single station downstairs, maybe for clients needing to stay on the ground floor (ADA, etc.).  I had one of the first appointments and the styling area was clean and tidy.  My stylist doesn't double-book clients when we're waiting for the color to process which I like.  The styling chairs and wash station recliners are fairly comfortable.
As for the cut and color, there are times I get a cut and style that I really like, and other times were I feel like the cut or color is just oK or not quite right.  I do think my stylist would do whatever she could to mitigate a problem if I asked--so far, I haven't.  The color and cut I got this time was OK.  I wish they had more resources to show color possibilities (instead of a tiny swatch of hair), or possibly some current "look books".
Overall, it's a good value and pretty convenient to have in our tiny town.  If the prices keep increasing to match the salons in Tulsa or other nearby metro areas, then I would consider going elsewhere for salon services.
