John Smith Concrete

John Smith Concrete was very responsive and helpful up until we accepted their $7,000+ bid to replace our driveway, front steps, and resurface our back patio. Despite multiple emails and phone messages I left for both the company owner and primary contractor asking to set the date for our work to be done, more than two weeks passed without hearing from anyone. No out-of-office or "I will be delayed returning your call/email" messages were set up on the company's phone number or email account - I was left to wait for two weeks with zero replies or calls back for 16 days. When I finally sent an email and left a phone message stating that we were withdrawing our acceptance of their bid, then I received an email from the contractor within the hour telling me he had been "out of town for a month", was just getting back to his phone messages and emails, and he would be calling me later that day. I told him not to bother. This company has good consumer ratings on another reliable ratings website and the three local references we inspected were an acceptable quality. However, I would recommend bypassing this company if you expect prompt replies and communications regarding your project.
