I had 2 20 year old heatpumps in various states of disrepair. I scanned Angie's List for the top 5 recommended HVAC vendors and contacted each. Generally each was responsive but Dan and Mike from A&H were the most forthcoming and honest about what made the most sensible investment for my situation. I had actually planned to go for a pair of ultra-efficient units but after talking with these guys and learning about the 40% raise in efficiency from my old equipment to our new equipment and how A&H met our needs for what our budget was on unit replacement - I got out the spreadsheet and found that it would actually save me several thousand dollars over the life of the investment to go with a simpler unit. I hadn't considered this trade-off and the fact that the A&H guys were willing to share some honest feedback created a good basis of trust for partnering with them on my install. The price for 2 heatpumps is obviously pretty high but they were very competitive with the other top 4 vendors to which i reached out. Especially given the fact that several stuck with the ultra-high efficiency sale and never offered another perspective.

Good service, will return in spring to replace coil.

Our old air conditioner was original to the home and was nonrepairable so we looked for a good local company to purchase a new one.  A&H Air conditioning had the brand unit that matched our furnace so we got a quote and they installed in a just a few days.
We were so pleased with their work we now have a service contract for both air conditioner and furnace equipment.

The entire project only took a couple days and that was with a lot of jack hammering through concrete that was quite thick in our older 1940's basement. They had to put in a rather extensive pipe system for the stormwater discharge to the outside side of our house, but that was due to the lack of anywhere else closer with sufficient slope. They also installed two new floor drains near the sump basin as well. Todd and Tom were the two that worked on it and were outstanding. The only minor issue I had was the amount of concerete dust everywhere after they left, but that is to be expected I suppose with what they had to do...and its something that can be cleaned up with some work. I am glad I changed my mind at the last minute from the original plumbers I was going to use to A&H. Todd even came back on his own to fix a minor leaking issue not directly related to the sump pump project without charging us. I've used different plumbers for various projects in the past, will be using them for plumbing in the future from now on.

Ultimately, the problem was incidental lawn debris around my AC unit. The approximate price was $85 for about 2 minutes of non-technical work. They were supposed to call before 'performing' any services other than inspection and diagnostics.

They did a great job. I gave them the model # of what needed replaced and he picked it up on his way here so I didn't have to pay for an extra visit.
