I contacted Travis Cutler (owner) and he came out immediately. He dug out the foundation and said that the well had been properly capped. He told me that the water was from the ground water and that he was not responsible for that type of leak. He put some Quickcrete in the hole and said if it leaked again he'd be willing to come out and fix it right for $250.00.
Of course it leaked again yesterday during a steady rain and I contacted Cutler again. Travis maintains that it is not his responsibility even though water is ONLY coming through the holes they "plugged". According to him it is the responsibility of the person that put the foundation in 39 years ago. Really??!!!
They seem nice enough and capable of capping a well. If you hire them however, just make sure it's nowhere near your basement!
"Member, I'm sorry again your having this problem. I however don't recall telling you it was the foundation guys problem. I do recall telling you that the leak was entering the annular space between the pipe and the foundation. That was sealed from the time of the installation from the original sprinkler system. Yes I did dig down to find out the well was properly plugged from my employees. And yes I found out that they didn't damage the old sprinkler lines to allow water into the basement. I did cut the old lines outside and glued caps on the lines to make ensure our side of the original job was clear from the issue you have. Unfortunately, in my opinion, this was an ongoing issue with the previous owner and it didn't help with the drought last year that it could have been caught before you purchased the home. Once again I'm sorry you feel that way and I would love to help. I just don't see why I should repair something at no cost for something I'm 100% sure was not my employees mistaken."
