Scott Burkley's company has painted the exterior of my house twice and some interior as well. The work performed went well and was performed in a timely manner. I would recommend their possible use for interior or exterior work.

We've had Burkley & Assoc do a lot of work for us at various times at our current and previous home. I can't detail all the work they've done. They are exceptional and we keep having them back. The members of the crew are very courteous and professsional and do a great job for a great price. We rarely need to look elsewhere for a reliable contractor and recommend them to all of our family and friends.

They didn't start when they said they were going to and had to come out and finish the job because they didn't do the job correctly the first time. But the quality of work was good when they finished. The contact information was terrible and it took them a few days to get back to us.

We interviewed several contractors for the exterior painting of our house and chose Burkley & Associates. They responded in a timely manner and inspected and gave us a quote and a time period for the job to begin. The came within a week of the projected date and finished the job in about 2 1/2 days. The crew was very professional and did a very good job of painting. We were then allowed to inspect the job to make sure it met our expectations which it did. Their quote was not the lowest bid but I am very glad that I selected this company to paint my house.

We were referred to Burkley Painting from GICKO Roofing (also on Angie's List). Scott Burkley, the owner, came to give the bid. Pleasant fella. We had decided to paint the brick of our home, which was a difficult decision. If it isn't done right, the problems can be disastrous. Scott had the experience to do it and provided several addresses to drive by and look at his work. We decided his was the company for the job. His workers prepared the house well by taping and masking. The outcome is better than we expected. We love it! The brickwork is the highlight of the job. It's obvious that his crew took their time and did it right. The crew was easy to work with and there wasn't any item that had to be redone. This company shows the INTEGRITY that consumers are looking for. We will hire them again.

Contracted them to paint the three rooms listed above. The kitchen had old humidity marks in the ceiling, and the hallway had a crack (less than 1 foot long) that was the main reason for the job. When they were done, the paint job looked good overall, but the marks in the ceiling were still visible and the crack still clearly noticeable. I called, they ensured they would come back to fix it, but never showed up. I call them back at least 3 more times to no avail.

We're going to have him back this spring to put shutters on the house. He is great. He is very approachable. His prices are fair. He is very friendly in his manner. They were very easy to have in the house. They are excellent. They are always early.

They were great. They were here early and cranked it out all day for several days. There were several guys on the crew who were very polite and considerate. I even trusted them enough to leave my door unlocked so they could use our restroom (which is huge for me). They accidentally sprayed paint on some of our landscaping rock and Scott Burkley was willing to do what it took to correct the problem. He's really great to work with and wants to do a good job. Their quality of work was really good and I would highly recommend them to anyone. They weren't the lowest quote but I didn't feel I could trust the companies that gave me lower quotes and it was worth a little more to not have to worry about future issues. I made the right choice.

We had Burkley and Assoc. paint the exterior of our 80 year old home and a wall that extends around part of the grounds. It is a large home with multiple additions over the years. Scott and his painters did a fabulous job matching the previous paint color and covering the various surfaces to make them all blend and look continuous. The project included multiple surface prep that Scott and his guys took care of for me. I did not have to hire a separate contractor to fix or prep some of the areas before the painters could arrive. Scott gave me a reasonable estimate for time and $. The painters showed up on time, as scheduled, and worked without a hitch. Scott would stop by daily to check on the progress. I have also used Burkley and Assoc. to paint the interior's of our last two homes. They always are clean and clean up after themselves on a daily basis. Scott and his painters always respect the age of the home and the details that come with turn of the century craftsmanship.

They did a good job of painting on the outside. The inside painting was sloppy. There was paint on the floor and it looked like they had only used one coat of paint. It just looked horrible. The owner came out and checked the painting on the inside and did not charge us for that. He gave us an option of having another crew come paint it again or get someone else. We chose to get someone else.

"BURKLEY & ASSOCIATES DID PAINT THE EXTERIOR. THE CLIENT WAS HAPPY WITH THE JOB, SO THEY CALLED US BACK TO PAINT THE INTERIOR. THE INTERIOR HAD ALREADY BEEN HALF PAINTED, AND THERE WAS ALREADY PAINT ON THE FLOOR (WHICH WE POINTED OUT SO WE WOULD NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE). THE CLIENT WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE FOR ONE COAT OF PRIMER AND ONE COAT OF PAINT, AND TOLD THAT IT MAY NEED 2 COATS. OUR CREW DID THIS JOB WHILE THE CLIENT WAS ON VACATION. WE COULD TELL THE JOB NEEDED 2 COATS OF PAINT, BUT DID NOT WANT TO INCREASE THE CLIENTS BILL WITHOUT NOTIFYING THEM. ONE THING DID HAPPEN WHILE WE HAD A CREW PAINTING THE INTERIOR. A NEIGHBOR CAME INTO THE HOUSE, WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION, AND BORROWED SOME EGGS. THE CLIENT WAS VERY UPSET ABOUT THIS. OUR CREW DID NOT LET THEM IN. THE NEIGHBOR WALKED IN THE GARAGE DOOR, WENT STRAIGHT TO THE REFRIGERATOR, AND TOOK THE EGGS. WHEN THE CLIENT RETURNED, THEY LET US KNOW THAT IT WAS OUR FAULT THEIR NEIGHBOR WALKED IN AND TOOK THEIR EGGS. THEY WERE MORE UPSET ABOUT THAT THAN THE PAINT JOB, WHICH WASN'T BAD. IT JUST NEEDED ANOTHER COAT. THE CLIENT WAS TOLD UP FRONT THAT 2 COATS OF PAINT WOULD BE BETTER, BUT OPTED FOR ONE. WE WERE MORE THAN WILLING TO PAINT THE SECOND COAT, BUT THE CLIENT WOULD RATHER HAVE THE JOB FOR FREE."

I have a two-story brick/wood house and the price was quite reasonable in comparison to quotes from other contractors. Everything went like clockwork. Schedule had to be arranged to allow installation of some new windows before painting. Painting began in early November soon after windows were installed. Caulking and painting took 3 days with about 6 people working on the job. I was very satisfied with the quality of the work.

We chose him based on his work that we witnessed from some neighbors who were having their house painted across the street. I inspected the quality of my neighbors work while I was over there and I thought they did a very good job. They were very tidy. They did a good job on the edge of the windows. I called him and he stopped by the same day I called him. We walked around the house and I told him what I needed an estimate for and he said this is the price unless you choose a different type of paint. My husband and I decided that the price was fair. The work was good and he was faster to communicate with us than these other people. He had a very quick response time. He told us that he wouldn t be able to get us in for 8 weeks depending on the weather. It could be sooner or later. He was fair about letting us know when he was available.

The crew was here when expected. They came while I was at work, so I wasn't here while the work was done. When I got home, I wasn't happy with the job that was done. There were paint ripples that were supposed to be sanded, but were not sanded but painted right over. There were drips in the other doors that I had just had painted. Instead of taking the doors down to take to their shop to do, they sanded and painted there and got drips and dust all over a quilt that resulted in me having to throw the quilt away. When he contacted me to see how the job went I said, "there were things that I wasn't too happy about." He apologized and came over and looked at it because it wasn't just one thing, it was like 3 different things that weren't right. When he came back he did fix the things and reduced the cost of the job, which he had estimated at $550. I was mainly disappointed because I would have done a better job doing it myself. I've used another Angie's List painter recently for a great room, and he did a fantastic job. There wasn't one thing wrong with what he did, so I was disappointed in Burkley and Associates. Also, I bought all the paint that was needed for the job, and they took it all with them. So, he did get the paint back from them. I wouldn't use them again.

"FIRST, I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE MEMBER FOR THE 'B', IT IS VERY IMPRESSIVE WHEN WHEN THE MEMBER WAS SO DISSATISFIED WITH THE JOB. WHEN THIS JOB WAS BID, I EXPLAINED THE CABINET DOORS WOULD NEED TO BE STRIPPED OR SHE WOULD STILL SEE RIPPLES IN THE OLD PAINT JOB. THE MEMBER DID NOT WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY BECAUSE SHE SAID IT WAS ONLY A BATHROOM. I BELIEVE THE WHOLE PROBLEM RESULTED FROM THE ORIGINAL POOR PAINT JOB. IT IS DIFFICULT TO COME IN AND CLEAN UP BEHIND A BAD JOB, ESPECIALLY IF THE CLIENT DOESN'T WANT TO PAY FOR THE RIGHT CORRECTIONS. LIKE THE MEMBER SAID, I DID TAKE $150.00 OFF THE PRICE TO TRY TO COMPENSATE FOR HER BEING UNSATISFIED."

We are 100% pleased with Scott Burkley & his crew. Scott & crew were very hard workers, meticulous, professional &, on top of it all, a pleasure to have around. We decided to hire this company because of Scott's emphasis on the importance of prep work before painting is ever begun.They spent nearly a week on the prep work. They came early, worked hard, & even stopped by on rainy days to check out the house. They applied paint by spraying, then hand painted, which speeded up the process. Detail painting was also excellent. Windows were numbered for correct replacement, which was important to us because another company failed to do this & is caused a lot of trouble getting windows back where they should've been. Scott was readily available by phone at any time of day to answer questions & also stopped by to check on the job. We had a couple of questions after completion & full payment. Scott was as responsive as before. We gladly recommend them to others & will hire them again.
