Michael has done a number of jobs for me, starting in 2015, and I've always been happy with the work he does. He is very knowledgeable and I trust that he knows how to do electrical repairs properly. I have learned a few things just talking to him. When he installed my motion-detector light, he spent at least 10 minutes adjusting the sensor so that the light would come on when I needed it. It works great now and I feel much safer at night coming out of my garage. He did a great job on my porch light rewiring, too. He had to drill a hole in my porch ceiling, install a conduit, and run wire from an outlet and then above the ceiling. He did a really neat job and it looks great. And it's much safer than the old amateur wiring that he replaced. Will definitely call him again.

They responded to my voicemail very quickly (called towards the end of business day and received a call back the next morning). They had another job in my general area and made time to come out that very day. Since the appointment was squeezed into their schedule I did not have a specific appointment time, but they did give me a 30 minute notice before arriving. They were friendly and professional when looking into the problem and solved in quickly. My outlets were working again withing 30 minutes of their arrival.

Great job by a great professional - charged the percent price of 1 hour labor for work done - took 15 minutes and that is what he charged for

This father-and-son team did an excellent job. Lots of experience to know what works best in your home. They are not cheap, but they are quick and capable. They had to get creative to install an outdoor light that did not have easy access to existing power. They also thought nothing of scrambling into a hot attic filled with insulation as a part of installing the ceiling fan.

They did a great job! We called on Monday morning and they were able to fit us in that afternoon. We are very happy with the work and will most definitely use them from now on for all electrical needs.

The quality of the work was wonderful. Both Michael and his son showed up on time; assessed the situation; and went to work. We discovered only the day before that our lower bathroom was not vented to the outside, much to our surprise. Though, when we scheduled this project with McConnell and Michael Electrical Service, we told them it was vented to the outside. Not a problem. They were able to fix that issue and did a beautiful job. They also replaced and checked the two bathroom fan/lights very quickly. All their work was completed in just a little over two hours. The toughest part of our project was fixing a bad track light. We had asked them to replace all our track light bulbs with LED bulbs. However, after they did, one bulb would not light (That particular light socket's bulb had not been lighting before they came. We just thought the bulb was burned out). After spending some time troubleshooting, Michael's son uncovered the problem's source: a bad wire. He was able to rewire the entire track light and get everything working. No damage to the ceiling, which was a relief to me. We were very pleased with their high quality work, professional behavior, and cleanliness. Besides the nice new fan/lights, vent to the outside, and working track lights, you could not tell they had been here (in other words, no dirt or debris was left behind.) We will certainly hire McConnell and Michael Electrical Service in the future.

Everything went well except for the difficulties above. The fan was certainly not their fault and they brought me another one which is working.

I most appreciate that Mike is a licensed master electrician. And it doesn't hurt that he is very respectful, pleasant and has a good sense of humor. His son Robb helps him and he's very pleasant as well. Mike's wife Debbie is very relatable and shares good tips before she schedules appointments. Replacing 3 outlets and installing a Ring Doorbell Pro as well as a better transformer went smoothly. If you are thinking about installing a Ring Doorbell Pro, I'll share some tips I got from talking with numerous Ring representatives: Ask Ring for an adjustment kit when you order a Ring Doorbell Pro or whatever Ring product you want in case your doorbell isn't 48" off the ground. You don't want to end up with video that only shows the bad guy up to his neck, do you? That's what I thought - you want a face. I bought my Ring Doorbell Pro from Costco and Ring sent me the adjustment kit free of charge. And keep the small Ring screwdriver handy for making adjustments. There are different Ring products, but I chose the Ring Doorbell Pro to get the highest resolution video to help police catch burglars if necessary. However, by the time you read this, there will probably be a newer model out. Make sure you have high enough speed Internet that will make it possible for your Ring Doorbell Pro to work. Most people think of download speed, but upload is more important. If necessary, ask your Internet service provider to come out and increase your upload speed before installing a Ring Doorbell Pro. Your modem manufacturer tech support can help you run tests to learn if you need to do this. I did so called Comcast and they increased my upload speed. Before installation, you'll also want to see what your existing doorbell transformer voltage and amps are. A Ring Doorbell Pro requires 16-24 volts and 30 amps. I simply assumed mine didn't because it came with my older home for a regular doorbell. So I went to Home Depot, Menards and Lowes but none of them had this more powerful transformer. So I searched online and then bought a Nutone 16 volt 30 amp C907 transformer model C907 that met the Ring specs. If you own your own router, contact your manufacturer to change your channel selection to Auto with a WPA2 security setting. And connect to your 2.4 - not 5 - wireless network because 2.4 goes through walls better. It helps if your modem and router are near your Ring Doorbell Pro without many walls to go through. And do not have a bunch of apps on your iPhone running in the background. Popeye needed spinach and your Ring Doorbell Pro needs some powerful juice! Download the Ring app and set up as much of that before installation as you can. Then print the setup steps, Ring.com login and "First Time Installation" telephone number, as well as your WiFi password before beginning installation so they're handy. Read the installation steps on Ring.com and make notes that will help installation go smoothly. Ring says their doorbell should be 48" off the ground, but this may not be necessary if you have have one step up to a porch area because it is critical that you are able to see the sidewalk as well. You most likely do not want to use all 3 adjustment plates behind the doorbell to angle it up or it will be too focused on the ceiling. It is critical that you not rush things after installation so you don't end up with video that shows a burglar's body but no face. You want to patiently test the doorbell - especially if your doorbell is not 48" off the ground - in order to see if you need to add any of the adjustment plates and if so, how many. Try different scenarios and see which one will give you the best video. Do not rush this part. And if you don't want to use any adjustment plates, research how to fill a hole in your wall so bugs can't get in so your electrician can install the doorbell higher than your existing one. My installation went smoothly. But if you're still not connected after installation, reset your modem and router. To make sure your modem and router stay synced when you do this, unplug the power cord from your modem first and then your router right after that. Then when all the lights on your modem are solid, immediately plug the power cord back in the router. And if you rent a gateway (modem and router combination in one unit) from Comcast or another provider, reset that. You may also want to ask Ring what ports need to be open and then let your router tech support or Internet service provider know this. Good luck!

Both Michael and his son Robbie were efficient, professional and personable. They were meticulous about keeping the areas they worked in clean. I believe they did great work and would definitely hire Michael and Robbie again.

I can't say enough good about McConnell & Michael Electrical Services Inc. I have used them before several times for electrical work and they never disappoint me. They show up on time, they are very professional, they know exactly what to do and get the job done. They were here for the entire day except when they went to lunch and go to a lighting company for a part they don't normally carry on their truck. Their prices are always reasonable and their work so good that I will never hire anyone else to do my electrical work. Even dealing with Mike's wife, Debbie, is an excellent experience. She is always helpful in setting up the appointments and letting me know when they are on their way.

No problems from my perspective. These were small jobs however, this company did not shirk my job or put me at the bottom of their list.

They did the lights in the bedroom. All these fixtures in the kitchen had to be replaced, they did that. They put a light in the bedroom closet.

McConnell and Michael showed up early (after I received a call saying that they would be early) and got the job fixed quickly, which was great so I could get on with my day. Not only did they disconnect the cable but they trimmed it and labelled it so it would not be reconnected by someone else later - important for safety reasons. $60 after coupon which I think is a great deal. Also, all three employees, including Debbie who I talked to on the phone, were very pleasant and helpful at all times. I could not have had a better experience.
