"At present, we are preparing for a court date with this homeowner. As would be expected, our recollection of the events that have brought us to this point differ greatly from those of the homeowner. Please note the following: 1) We did provide an estimate for the scope of work requested by the homeowner; 2) Per the request of the homeowner, we reallocated monies from the insurance summary report to install additional windows; 3) Because the awnings were more than 30+ years old, we war unable to locate replacement units; therefore, we made efforts to repair the awnings. The outcome of the repair was not satisfactory; therefore, we refunded the money; 4) Our crews are experienced, and carry their own liability and workman's compensation insurance; 5) Upon completion of the project, and when the homeowner refused to pay the outstanding balance, we requested the homeowner provide us with a "punch list" based on an inspection from a licensed professional. She refused. She did provide a verbal list of items she deemed to be unsatisfactory. Upon receipt of the verbal "punch list", we completed 100% of the items in dispute. Subsequently, homeowner still refused to remit final payment. Ultimately we were forced to file a mechanic's lien and a lawsuit to protect our financial interests."
