They were very polite and respectful. They worked with us on where and what we wanted and even helped us find out about special financing. Promises, promises galore. We asked for a drawn out plan. Never got it. They began work and from the beginning we had trim falling off in our hands, doors installed so crooked there were gaps at the bottom and top of the doors. The ramp railing had to be redone due to the door hitting it. We had to follow them around and point out every single thing they did was crooked, in the wrong place or just falling apart. When the trim piece fell off, he said "oh, I guess the nails weren't long enough" and just put a couple of other nails in and left the rest of the trim like was. When another piece fell off, he did the same thing! The main guy had relatives working for him that clearly weren't sure what they were doing. We finally told them to stop and we would settle up and get another construction crew in. The ramp they built is now bowing up and very unsafe and will have to be redone. They seemed to be flying by the seat of their pants! The remodel was to include a new bath, we asked what they thought about how things looked in the crawl space for new plumbing and were told they hadn't even been under the house yet! We met with them, terminated the contract and paid for materials and came to an agreement on labor charges. It was not what we felt was fair but we did sign a contract and didn't want to start a lawsuit.
