The Paint crew were all polite and worked well. The result was excellent.

Letter requesting money back was faxed and sent. No response. Excerpts from letter: It as apparent, after several attempts that Double D Painting could not resolve these issues in a timely manner which did affect the project from a stand point of time and cost. (1) Kitchen cabinet doors, drawers and faces; Runs in the lacquer due to lack of proper sanding and prep work. (2) Handrail and steps in entry foyer; multiple efforts to resolve finish. Topcoat and touch-up resulted in an unsatisfactory appearance.(3) Kitchen Island and base trim for Island. Bleeding through of base cabinet color. Orange peel effect on finish coat.(4) Prep work in powder bath. By your own statement, the prep work was sub-standard. (5) Prep work in the kitchen area; No caulking to any cabinets or trim. The lack of prep work has left tape lines on cabinets and trim that were painted. (6) Windows in the kitchen and family room; runs in the lacquer due to lack of proper sanding and prep work.

"Double D Painting Inc. was hired by the members to do various painting work in their home. A written estimate was submitted & approved by the members on Jan. 11, 2007. The homeowners also chose paint colors & sheens. The work was performed from Jan. 16th through Jan. 22nd in the manner promised by Double D. The homeowners decided they didn't like the color or the sheen of certain areas that had been newly painted & raised other concerns about the work performed. Double D went back to the home & performed additional work to resolve the issues raised by the homeowner. The homeowner then requested that Double D complete additional work beyond the scope of the original Estimate, some of which was performed, & some of which was declined by Double D. In a letter to the homeowners on Jan. 30th, Double D discussed the work done, offered to complete some additional work, & offered to meet with them at the home to address their additional questions. They canceled a scheduled meeting & have had no further contact with Double D. Double D vehemently denies receiving any letter from homeowners demanding their money back. Double D charged a total of $3,657 for the work it performed & wasn't paid in full. Double D cares deeply about the quality of service it provides, & believes that not only the service, but the professionalism, punctuality, responsiveness, quality and overall product it provided to the members surpassed industry standards, conscientious, and integrity.
