PETS & VETS AS PARTNERS

I switched from another vet because Pets & Vets had better hours. I had heard that the other vet was more expensive. They are also expensive though. I like their hours.When I go there, I seem to get a different person every time, I think that's ok. There's nothing wrong with "new" but, I haven't been able to build up a relationship with any of them. When I left the other vet, I had a couple of experiences, where I really liked the person I was dealing with.I had heard that Pets & Vets were less expensive. Their hours were so much more accessible for me stopping by after work to pick up; and they have longer hours on Saturday for making an appointment.

It is very expensive, but I don't know that you can get it less anywhere else.

Among other things, the vet told me that my newly adopted dog needed to have her teeth cleaned and scheduled a time for that to be done. I got uncomfortable when they called me in to take a pre-procedure prescription that was extremely expensive and the clerk was unclear about how to administer. Cancelled the appointment for the cleaning. Read her adoption papers and discovered that her teeth had been cleaned weeks earlier. New vet confirms that the teeth are clean and gums are great. I trusted the P&V practice for years. Never again.

It was good. They came to our house to do it and everything. We've been going to them for years.

We can readily see that the entire staff and vets love animals. We like the fact all the vets are women who handle us and our dogs well by exhibiting genuine interest and concern. These women are perceptive, professional, and kind hearted.

I have taken my cats to Pets and Vets since 2007 and while a bit expensive, had been happy with their services. I've found service has gone down in the last 2-3 years. My last appointment I was told to put my cat on weight management cat food because his labs showed diabetes onset. I don't feel I was properly informed of the gravity of his lab numbers or serious nature of his current condition, because less than a month later, I had to take my feline companion to Purdue's Animal Emergency and say goodbye. I will not return to Pets and Vets.

Dr. Bowers and her team are just simply awesome. We have 3 large breed farm dogs, and they are never afraid to approach them or treat them. Today, we had to send one to heaven, due to a long illness with degenerative myelopathy, and they were so patient and caring. They let us take our time, and made sure that he was not stressed by all of the docs and techs assisting - they were very respectful of us, and caring of our dog. Even in loss, I can't thank them enough for their attention and service.
In addition, we have boarded all 3 of our dogs here. We chose to separate one from the other 2, so there would be no fighting in our absence, and they were very happy dogs. They have great facilities, and plenty of room to take them outdoors to run. They provided our food, and our vitamins without fail, and even allowed a phone call to them while we were gone. We have boarded with them twice.
And finally, over the years we have taken our kitties to the team - for spaying and shots, and they care for them very well, too.
Pets and Vets is located behind TV18 on Montgomery, near the Purdue Research Park.

I dropped my dog off at the office in the morning and I picked her up in the afternoon. Dr. Bowers showed me the X-rays of my dog's bladder, which 6 months ago was full of stones. After six months of giving her a cranberry supplement, there were no visible stones on the X-ray. Dr. Bowers thoroughly explained the status of her gall bladder, blood was drawn to perform other tests, we discussed the status of her cancer and Noodle and I came home.

As always, Dr. Bowers gave me clear, direct information and treated me like she considers me to be an intelligent human being. She is never condescending.

The name of the practice reflects the experience of going there. The pet owner and the vet are partners in the pet's health and well-being.

I took my dog in December and again in May- trying to find out why he was chewing all the time and pawing at his mouth. All I was told is he needed to have teeth cleaned. I decided to change vets- turns out he had a tumor in his mouth.
He had been suffering all that time because I trusted the vet.
My dog is doing fine now- his new vet took him to surgery the day I took him in---and while he was out did clean his teeth.
I used Pets and Vets for over 12 years---with 2 dogs so they knew my dog.

I couldn't be more impressed and happy with the staff in the rehab department. My golden retriever has arthritis in her knees, as well as some serious muscle atrophy and mild neurological issues in her back legs from ACL ruptures and tears. The staff show nothing but enthusiasm and compassion for my dog. I'm amazed at how well they get her to cooperate during the exercises and treatments. The water treadmill has allowed my dog to regain strength and mobility much faster than doing just traditional strengthening exercises. The dedication, love, and care they provide for my dog has certainly improved the quality of her life and the length of her life.

Dr. Bowers prescribed antibiotics for her eyes and gave her oral antibiotics.

FABULOUS! Nearly everyone I've had contact with at Pets and Vets has shown love for both the pet and the owner. As I mentioned before, my dog has cancer. But she also has other life-threatening problems, as well as several additional chronic health issues. Dr. Bowers always answers my questions in a direct and professional manner and she listens when I have something to say. I feel like my dog really matters and that I'm not just a checkbook walking through the door. This practice is very appropriately named because I feel like a genuine partner in my dog's care. I recommend Pets and Vets as Partners to everyone whenever I get the chance. I wish I had come here a long time ago!

Dr. Levy is the best vet I've ever used. She works well with all kinds of dogs from the easy-going to the "I hate the person in the white jacket" type. She's patient and meets the dogs where they are emotionally. She doesn't take any question as being too trivial, and she genuinely cares about our furry kids. When we had a dog who was extremely afraid of going to her office and had reached the time to go to "rainbow bridge," Dr. Levy came to our house to help reduce the fear our beloved dog would have during his final time with us. Her office even sent us a clay casting of his paw print with his name on it. It was a touching and meaningful tribute to our dog. I would not change vets unless Dr. Levy retired or I left town. We all love her and her staff. I could not say enough good about her. If you need a vet, she's your woman.
