Total Comfort NWI Inc.
About us
Whether you need a simple cleaning or a new heating and cooling system to provide comfort in your home, Total Comfort NWI is your local professional. I often hear people say it’s not personal, it’s business. Well, business is personal. I started Total Comfort NWI on March 31, 2010, in the worst economy of many of our lifetimes. I knew there would always be a market for better furnace and air conditioning service. Thankfully I was right: we have grown slowly in spite of the recession. Today we are blessed to have the best customers we could ask for. I promise to our customers: No service call fee with any paid repair. We will provide a full diagnosis and provide you with repair options. Our goal is to provide you with choices so YOU can decide what is best for your home and comfort. I have worked for other local companies in the past and it feels great to have the personal satisfaction generated by the way we do things. To know we actually helped people and didn’t just do what was profitable. I believe business can be so much more. I love taking my little girl to your house to trick-or-treat, and being invited to your child’s graduation open house. It is personal because it is MY business. Which would you prefer? I hope God blesses you as he has embraced me! Peter Katschke – Owner

"It was great to meet you. Thanks for choosing us and thank you for the review."
"Thank You so much for reviewing us. It was my pleasure to serve you and Happy Thanksgiving! Pete"
"I'll see you then [Member Name Removed], and thank you for taking the time to review us!"
The provider was on time, did the work completely and explained what he did and what I needed to do to maintain my furnace.
I would use this provider in the future. I appreciate Angie's List for making this available to us.
"Thank You very much for taking the time to review the service we provided. I would however ask that you review your Angieslist Big Deal Purchase, as the service you purchased does not include a cleaning. Please let us know if we can help you any further. Pete"
When he was done he explained the concerns that he had regarding the furnace, and gave me some ballpark estimates on what prices would be on those listed repairs, and on a new system as well, as this on is over 20 years old. He was not pushy in any way and I felt completely confident that he was knowledgable in what he was saying.
I would have no problem whatsoever recommending this company to family or friends, and will use them if we decide to move forward with this furnace. I was very pleased that I got the tuneup package from Angie's List.
"We have trained rigorously and have been certified as heat exchanger experts by Heat Exchanger Experts Inc. We are not aware of another company in NW Indiana that carries this certification. When we met I offered to meet with this other contractor and your brother to demonstrate the crack free of charge. The particular model of furnace you have has an incredibly high failure rate. So high in fact the replacement heat exchangers are of a different design. When I brought this to your attention it was to offer a repair with a manufacturer warrantied part with you only being responsible for labor. Would a manufacturer eat a several hundred dollar part that was not failed? You said you would not repair it which is why I quoted the replacement. We did not disconnect your furnace. We turned it off in compliance with the National Fuel Gas Code. This is not our company policy, its the law. If the contractor giving the second opinion were qualified to do the inspection they would have confirmed this. I am very disappointed we received an "F" for being more knowledgeable and honest but I have to maintain my commitment to deliver excellence. Good luck with your furnace."
