Home Inspection Services and Testing: 35 Years’ Experience in Residential Construction. Since 1997 I have been inspecting homes including evaluating the structure, plumbing, heating, electrical & drainage systems, as well as safety features and items that could diminish your investment. I provide my clients with the necessary information on the condition of the home so they can make an informed decision regarding their purchase. My home inspections typically range from 3-5 hours long depending on the size of the house and you have the choice of following along as I perform the inspection or meeting me at the end for a recap. Within 12 hours of the inspection you'll have a detailed written report with photos emailed to you. Choosing the right home inspector can be difficult. Unlike most professionals, you probably won't meet me until after you hire me. Different inspectors have varying qualifications, equipment, experience, reporting methods and pricing. A thorough home inspection depends heavily on the individual inspector’s knowledge and effort. Your best interest is my main concern. Todd was an ace and went above and beyond in all areas. He performed a new home inspection for a home I'm purchasing. The home is in a rural area and even though the GPS shows the address on a different street than the driveway is on... he arrived to the property before me and without help. Throughout the inspection he was extremely detailed, climbing in, above and below in some areas that even the current homeowner had never been in. His feedback on site was excellent as was the detailed report I received a few hours after the on site inspection. I would absolutely work with Todd again.

It was a great experience. I initially asked for a mold inspection. After a bit of discussion and a visual inspection, I was advised not to spend the money on a thorough test. I really appreciated the honesty. The ceiling was repaired, and the end result was very good. I will definitely use this service again when needed.

Was very pleased with the quality of the report on our new construction home. Todd found items to be corrected that we would have never noticed on our own. Also, Todd attempted to do a radon test which the builder then ruined by opening the basement an exposing the test to air. Todd removed the cost of the test on our invoice without question. Very pleased overall.

After researching the results from DIY kits, and professional testing, my husband and I decided to have the paint in our home professionally tested for lead. Todd came up as a match on Angie's list for toxic lead testing. I called him to set up an appointment. At that point, I wish he'd told me that, sure, he could come out, but he'd be using the $10 kits we can get at the hardware store, and we could just do that ourselves. While here, he told us that he does a lot of mold testing, but he doesn't have any special certification for lead testing. So we spent $115 when we could have spent $15, and we still didn't get a professional test done. I imagine Todd does a good job with home inspections, and probably particularly with mold, I just wish he'd been more forthright with me about when we were discussing the job.

I highly recommend Todd Mayer and House and Home Inspections. Todd was very prompt and professional. The software he used gave us photos to correspond with all of his inspection points. A picture is worth a thousand words; it was very easy to see where the issues were in the home. This was a great negotiating tool. His report was back to us within a couple of days. It was clear to me that Todd has spent many decades in the home construction business. He knows how a house should be properly built and could give us insight into what a repair might entail. I have recommended Todd to several of my friends looking at purchasing properties, and I will continue to do so.

From start to finish, Todd was the most professional/ thorough home inspector we’ve ever hired. We needed a next day appointment and he was able to work it out and meet us when the showings began. Not only was he courteous to me and my family, he could also answer any questions I or my realtor had for him. During the inspection he knew exactly where to go and what items, major and minor, to check or what needed replacement or work. He gave us plenty suggestions as well as a full spreadsheet/ overview on moving forward after the inspection. Thanks to Todd we were able to streer away from this home because it needed more work than what we initially thought. His honesty saved us from making a huge mistake based on what the previous inspection sheet said. The previous inspectors were obviously not as thorough as house & home inspections! The mold inspection was very inexpensive as well!! We will be using him moving forward with our next potential home purchase.
