I had two 17 foot arborvitae fall during a wind storm. Horses was the only company that I could find that agreed to lift the arborvitae into place and stake them so that they could survive. They were there within a day of assessing the damage. I could not have replaced trees of that size. Excellent job. Thanks George!

The five coneflower plants were very tiny and they planted them at the end of November 2016. They did not survive and Horses refused to honor their warranty and replace them. They continually ignored me and when I did not go away, they (George and Erica both) lied to me and told me they would replace the plants. Erica even went as far as telling me that she was ordering them on September 19, 2017. I am still waiting for them. Another tactic they used was to blame me for the demise of these plantings, which failed to thrive from the onset. The hydrangeas were also planted at the end of November 2016. Whether they will survive is not known. George and Erica were both confident in telling me that they would be fine, but again, they would not honor the warranty, which I paid for, for those either. Their handling of the problems with these plantings soured the entire job they did as well as my opinion of them. I would definitely not recommend this company.

Communication was a problem. George met me at my home on Tuesday the 15th. We walked around the house explaining to him what I wanted done. He wanted to come back on Friday the 18th and I told him no, but to come on Monday the 21st. I need to clean the beds before his crew put the mulch down. He didn't show up on Monday, said he was waiting for me to call him??? He did show up Tuesday however.
I had SPECIFICALLY told him not to put mulch on my tulip beds (I had mulched them in red in the fall when I planted the bulbs and wanted it left alone.) He remulched my tulip beds in black up against my white fence. I requested a geometric shape cut out under the birch tree. George painted out an area of how far to cut out. The crew he sent out cut a perfect circle and left the old edging and mulched the new area but didn't mulch up to the tree.
When working with this company, they are good but you need to take notes; specific notes and if possible be around when they arrive.

.The east side of my house was a problem area. Very shady, nothing would grow, some drainage issues. They examined the area, came up with a design, sat down with me, reviewed and revised any changes. The job was completed in just a few days. Very professional and actually a joy to work with. I would not hesitate to use them again nor would I hesitate to recommend them to someone else.

I paid $250 for an estimate with the understanding that the charge would be applied to ANY purchase of service or material at the nursery. The scheduling/counter clerk explained the policy to me when I made the appointment. The landscape designer collected a check from me at the time of the estimate. A few weeks later I called to receive an estimate but it was HUGELY more expensive than two others. I called to see how to apply the credit to the purchase of plant material. First, one owner told me I could just come in and make a purchase. Later the other owner called back and said that the policy had changed from the previous year. They were no longer allowing a credit toward plant material.
I just noticed the provider response regarding my review from years ago. I did not love the $250 design which was not even drawn to scale.
The way they managed the dispute was unprofessional as explined above. I paid $250 for a loosely drawn plan I did not like or use.

"THE MEMBER PURCHASED A DESIGN FROM HORSES DESIGN DEPT. LOVED THE DESIGN, DIDN'T LOVE THE INSTALL PRICE. HIRED ANOTHER FIRM TO INSTALL THE DESIGN FROM HORSES THEN WANTED HER MONEY BACK. WE ARE BY NO MEANS THE MOST EXPENSIVE NOR ARE WE THE LOW PRICED LAWN MAINTENANCE GUYS WHO ARE HERE TODAY GONE TOMORROW. WE HAVE BEEN IN BUSINESS 28 YEARS BECAUSE WE KNOW HOW TO TREAT CUSTOMERS.
