The problem is they replaced the pump with a Myers SSM331 and told my wife it was the best. Frankly its NOT  a grinder pump and NOT suited for a septic system with solids where it is in frequent use. This is also a 200$ pump and therefore the install should have been more like 350$ or 400$ when you push it.

Feel ripped off because I was not there and would have pushed back but not acceptable for them to do this.

Service was great.  They were very responsive and punctual.  Service was done quickly and efficiently.  He was also very helpful and gave me info on maintaining the system as well as some help with what to check on trouble spot in the drain field.  I will be using Midwest for all future septic related issues.

He is professional, pleasant and came within the suggested hour I was told to expect him. Very informative told me what size septic tank I had. Also explained that a septic tank size is based on the number of bedrooms in a house not based on the number of bathrooms and the type of soil that is on the property. The charge is based on the size of the septic tank and suggested how often the tank should be cleaned out. Knows his stuff! I recommend him highly!

Service was very professional and courteous. The service tech explained what he was doing and gave his opinion concerning the overall condition of my septic tank and the necessity to maintain a schedule or reminder to have the tank pumped at regular intervals. He also explained what the service charge is based on referring to the size of the tank and the gallons pumped out
Most home owners who are on a septic system are aware of the cost and complexity involved with replacing the septic tank and that regular pumping is definitely required. I would definitely use Midwest Excavating again!

They far exceeded our expectations! They went above and beyond the performance that we expected. They thoroughly examined our septic field, and gave suggestions on ways that we could enhance our field so that it would work more esthitically with our landscaping and give us better performance for the long term.

The transaction was a pleasure from the beginning phone call. Scott arrived on time and told me exactly what he was doing. His wife, who is in the business with him was there as well. He worked quickly and efficiently, but kept me aware of what was going on at every step. The price, which I know to be reasonable from past experience, was actually a little less than what was quoted on the phone.
He suggested I consider installation of a and quot;riserand quot; to make the job easier (and cheaper) in the future. His price ($80) seemed reasonable, especially considering he would have to include a round trip back to his shop. Installation of the riser was again quick and efficient. The clean up was first rate. He even filled in a hole our plumber dug and forgot to fill a week earlier.
Scott and his wife are in the business together, a business that Scott's grandfather started. Scott has worked in the business since he was 12 years old. They are a remarkable couple, proud of their business's history and anxious to build good will with every customer they serve for the repeat business they hope for over the next 50 years. They like their business and take pride in it. This attitude is awfully hard to find these days.
Got a septic tank problem? Call Scott. I recommend him without reservation.

Due to my neglect, the filled septic tank would not absorb water from my washing machine and it backed-up into my toilet. Since I had vacation renters staying at my home for the week, I needed immediate service. I phoned Maureen late Monday afternoon, and Scott arrived Tuesday morning, emptied my septic tank ($200) and examined my system ($100), indoor and outdoor, to ensure it was functioning without disrupting my renters. I've learned my lesson of ensuring my septic tank is pumped-out, and will happily and confidently use A-Midwest Excavation to do it in the future.

Outstanding service. This is how a company should be run. It's a family company. Maureen usually answers the phone in my experience. And that right there is no little thing since I called another septic company in town, it's been 2 days and I still haven't heard back from them. Midwest Excavating answers the phone right away. You get an appointment right away. They give you a one hour window of when the guy will come out. If they are running late, THEY CALL YOU and tell you what's going on and when to expect them. Excellent communication. That is key in my book.
Scott came out with his wife and pumped our tank. He did an excellent job. They explained everything to me about what they were doing and why. If they are running behind, you will get a call from his wife with updates. Our house is over 30 yrs old and they told me how they could tell from pumping about the health of our septic field (they look for effluent spilling back into the tank from the outlet line).
If you need your septic tank pumped, call Midwest Excavating.

I was referred to this company by my home inspector. Their communication is top-notch. They either answer the phone right when you call or get back to you the same day. They accommodated my short notice request for an appointment. They're professional on the phone and in-person. They are great at what they do - they pump septic tanks. That said, they don't inspect the tanks. I asked about this because I was purchasing a home with a 30-year old septic system and I wanted someone who would not only pump the tank but inspect it and at least give me an overall idea of it's health. I know from researching this on the web and subsequently having spoken to other septic companies that they can stick what is essentially a mirror on a pole down in there, look for cracks, make sure the baffles are not damaged on the tank itself; they can use a power snake to check the lines from house to tank; examine the extracted scum for the proper effluent mix; check the distribution box and the absorption field; and at a minimum perform a dye test. Anyway, A-Midwest told me there was no way to inspect the septic system. I'm sure they were not trying to fool me, they simply just don't do that. In short, so long as you only need your septic tank pumped, call A-Midwest!

Called for service. Person answered stated work to be done, and cost. Scheduled an appointment for later that afternoon. Person called again later and asked if he could make an earlier appointment. Arrived on time, courteous, and performed work well. Explained the service, and did a good job. Gave us a coupon for a future visit ($10 off).

WE HAVE USED THIS COMPANY TWICE. THEY COME WHEN THEY SAY THEY WILL. WHEN YOU CALL THEM, THEY ANSWER THE PHONE. YOU DO NOT JUST GET AN ANSWERING MACHINE. THEY ARE PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS PEOPLE.
