David Floor and Wall Covering

Update - We had a tile crack and during the repair discovered that there was no mortar on 3/4 of the tile. Tapping on tiles with metal objects you hear where tiles sound hollow from not being adhered properly. So they did mpt use spacers, did not use levels, and didnt use mortar either. The floors they replaced were also tile and completely level (though quite dated) negating their uneven slab comment. At this point we are looking at another 10,000 to completely re do all the floors. We hired the Bushes based upon recommendation as an ethical and reputable business. They did not meet basic expectations. They did not show up when they told us they would, worked less than 2-3 hours a day, and when given a chance to repair shoddy workmanship, they sloppily repaired a few. There are chunks of grout on my walls and they failed to complete basic cleaning of grout from tiles and tops of baseboard tiles. Cigarette butts were left in yard and driveway. . Floors were not completed in time. There was always an excuse - Covid quarantine though he was not Sick and works alone and could have worked; nipsco inspection which kept him away all day - though his brother remarked he would be at our house soon because luckily nipsco had inspected him first thing that morning. Most excuses showed poor time management on their part. The workmanship is very poor. Did everything by eye and halfway. The tiles are uneven - no spacers or levelers were used. It is a safety hazard. Our older mother has tripped over raised tiles multiple times. Fortunately we have caught her - otherwise we would have a legal issue. We are currently looking at thousands of dollars to redo their work. It is a shame since the people who recommended Dave and his brothers put their own reputation on the line for them. EDIT - We did not have floors leveled because they were level to begin. Previous tile was level. Levelers and spacers were not used when laying concrete. To date we have had 3 people fall from this job which will cost us $5-10,000 to fix. Dave and his brothers were given chance to repair tiles - at their request we marked tiles for replacement. However, the marks we made on tiles were just wiped off. It is our hope that they do better.

Horrible experience, David Bush will sell you on his 50 years of tile experience, then send his two brothers to do half ass work, many excuses to even get started then to ever finish half the job, they laid broken tiles and were sloppy with the rest, nice guys but Horrible at laying tile, save yourself hire someone else! As for getting any of my deposit back well guess thats not gonna happen either . In the end he did send me back 1/3 of my deposit

Got some quotes. Though their price was a little higher, I went with experience here. (Experience should be a little more right?) Glad I did. I did not want to spend this kind of money just letting anybody put it down. Dan and his brother C.J. has done a great job. Thanks, Dan! I should not have had to worry about it. I paid a lot for the dumpster though but, it was dropped off and pick up right on time. Thanks, Dave.

Absolutely a pleasure to work with David, Daniel and Curt. Always on time. Cleaned up after each day of work. Price was fair and affordable. In fact, the price and quality of work was so good that we requested an additional project before they left the job. They took time to help us with tile shipping issues from another company.
