We had a leaking toilet that had ruined our floor. Jeff Bogan ripped out the old toilet and flooring. He laid a new sub-floor. We had purchased the new tiles and grout. We were fully capable of laying the tile ourselves, but wanted Jeff to lay them, due to time and schedule restraints. Also, we had a baby on the way and had little time to spare. At first, the floor looked fine. There are a few tiles that are not set level. Then the grout began to crack. A small crack soon became a large one. We contacted Jeff and he returned to repair it. Once again, the grout cracked and he started to blame the type of tile we had purchased, even though he had approved of the materials before he started work. My wife also caught Jeff pushing dust and dirt from the construction down the air vent in our bathroom. He also incorrectly cut the hole for the same vent. He did eventually fix the vent. We researched the ANSI Standards to make sure the tile was laid properly. According to these standards, the one tile that seems to be the culprit behind the crack in the grout is in fact outside of the allowed height for the edge of the tile. Once this info was relayed to Jeff Bogan he became defensive. After a handful of calls and a few months, Jeff returned a third time to fix it and again it happened. Jeff questioned the grout. We questioned the actual laying of the tile. We have made multiple attempts to get Jeff Bogan to correct the problem. He always has an excuse, usually due to working on another job. He says he'll get to it after the job he's on is finished, then that job is done and he moves on to another, telling us, that he is now at another job so he'll get to us later. Fast forward 6 months later. Still no answer to our problem. The large crack now varies in width and stretches across the bathroom floor. We also have a new crack near the bathtub. We are ready to just rip up Jeff's job and do it correctly, but we want to allow him the opportunity to fix it, before we seek other avenues...complaints to State, etc. We want no doubt that every avenue was taken to correct the issue.
