Insurance Agencies
We had friends living there, paying the utilities & acting as caretakers. We no sooner got the insurance written than we got a letter cancelling the policy. They alleged we had a problem with our roof gutter and fascia. There was--and is--no problem, which was proven the day we got the letter. We were not informed ahead of time that there could be a problem. If Andreas Maher knew before we did, he never told us. He did not act as an insurance agent for us. Also, he took it upon himself to have the insurance company stop payment on the refund check without consulting us as to whether we wished to cancel with the company or continue. We ended up having to fight to get even a very small portion of our refund back.
We had to contact the Indiana Department of Insurance, the Indiana Attorney General's Office, and the offending company, Foremost Insurance. The whole thing was a major fiasco. And Maher was no help whatsoever.
Indeed, when we took our business elsewhere, he got nasty with the other agent we saw.
