We used Metzger's before, and were happy with them, although they were a little pricey. This was in October, several years ago, and the service was very quick. This year, due to work demands, my asthma, (and the fact that my husband and I are very bad at gardening), we decided to hire them again. I called for an estimate at the end of April/beginning of May, when I knew we would have the funds. I received an estimate on May 5, and agreed to it around May 7-8. I was aware that I had made arrangments a little late in the game, and realized that there would be a wait. I also realized that any bad weather would knock us back, and that we were a small job. That being said, I didn't really think that it would be nearly August before anyone showed up. Unfortunately, my job was such that I couldn't do a lot about our yard in the meantime, and so this wait became somewhat frustrating. I was tempted to call in someone else, but felt that that would be violating an oral contract, and a little unfair. I called 3 times over this period, and always received a call back. Once the crew showed up, however, they were fast, polite, and did a great job. I would hire them again, and recommend them, but with the caveat that for seasonal work, it's best to make arrangements early in the season. I may use someone else for time-sensitive jobs.

They did a beautiful job and I'm very happy with it, but over the winter, it was such a bad winter that I did have one tree die. I told them about it and Hank came out and looked at it and said yes, it needs to be replaced, it's dead and said that they would do that. I have yet to see them come out and replace the tree, but I'm sure they will because they're a very popular company. I was very happy with the job they did they way they did it. They cleaned up everything and everything was really well done. I just feel like you have to wait a while to get those things done like replacing the tree.

He is the best in town but he is very expensive.

He's wonderful. He did a great job. He's a great consultant, he just needs a question about what to do about this tree or that. He's a good guy. He assured us that the tree would grow and it did. I haven't compared his price to anybody else. When they say they'll be here, they'll be here. We've been very pleased with it. They did a wonderful job on the project.

Hank personally met with us and asked us what we wanted. He returned in a couple of days with a detailed blueprint of his plans and a price. We had a cap on what we could spend and he worked with us to get the most for our money. In fact, he even left a couple of features in the plans on his nickle because he felt strongly that they would add to the overall appeal.
Within a few weeks (he was close to the time he said he would begin), Hank's crew began work. They were punctual, courteous, always cleaned up after the day's work was done and left the property in good shape. They even worked with us regarding some slight modifications required because of unanticipated issues without adding to the cost of the project.
When the job was completed, there were a couple of details that needed to be addressed. Hank's crew came back to finish those details, including a fix of a downspout that was hooked up wrong.
If you want cheap, then Hank is not your guy. However, in the same breath I can say that you easily get what you pay for: Quality work, professional staff, an organization that delivers what it promises and a product that you will be proud of. It is no cliche to say that he personally stands behind his work.
My wife and I would recommend Hank Metzger in a heartbeat.

I have had them fertilize routinely and treat the lawn for weeds. They are very busy and don't always get here at the best time, but in the past three years have helped improve my lawn. They are always professional and answer any questions I have been happy with there service.

We are pleased with the new grass and shrubs. After putting in the grass and landscaping I called several times with questions and they patiently answer them all.

I told above that I have been pleased with the results and overall the yard is much better. I watered most of my lawn all summer at a terrific price but one side of my home I didn't and that is what I described. as new seedlings coming up .

They come out on a regular basis. They don't cut our lawn They treat our lawn and sometimes we have them do landscaping. I would say they are good. I will continue to use them.

He answered all the questions that I had. It did take a while for him to get back to me. He was on time.

They did a very good job. We were very happy with their work. The only issue we had was that we contacted them in April about the job and they didn't get to it until about 2 months later. We were very happy with the work though once it was done and will be using them again in the future.
