We did not get good service from this provider. We had contacted them to do our taxes. We gathered all the documents and sent them. Then we were contacted and advised that we would owe a large amount on our Federal taxes. We were concerned by this because we had done some initial calculating with different figures. We then figured out that they had made a $4000 error on our taxes. Because of the error, we were concerned that there were more problems with the return. We spend half a day re-doing everything to double-check all the information and figures. Since we had spent so much time trying to figure out the error and re-doing the taxes, we filed our taxes ourselves. However, that was not the end of the problems. We were told by Stadler that we owed them $125 for tax advice, with a $50 coupon they applied, the balance due was $75. We contacted Stadler and stated we had not expected to be billed considering the problems, but that we had an additional coupon from Angie's List for $50 and we would pay $25. Stadler stated he would not accept the Angie's List coupon because they had already applied another coupon. Lastly and most shockingly, he emailed us and told us that we could choose to pay or not, but that our decision "will be between us and God" I could not believe that a reputable business would use God to essentially bully a client into paying for services that were not as expected and would have actually cost us $4000. We were very disappointed in the outcome of this situation. I would not advise anyone to use this company.
Response from A-STADLER & CO ACCOUNTING
"[member name removed], Thank you for posting your review. We need to clarify that you had contacted me asking questions about special tax circumstances surrounding your tax return which I answered for you. You proceeded to hire me and agreed to the price quoted. When you and your husband showed up at my office I told you the tax return was not yet completed but I would have it done in two days. You wanted to see and review what I had completed and we found the withhold tax credits was not properly credited in the calculations. I made the adjustment and told you that the tax return was completed. I spent over 5 hours of time working on your tax return. You told me that you and your husband had spent the weekend completing your tax return using turbo tax and no longer needed my services. I had provided to you all the tax law knowledge surrounding your special circumstance and you refused to pay me a small fee. I told you I would not pursue collections but it would be up to you if you want to treat me fairly. Then you posted this bad review. I live in this community; I am not a big corporate chain. I do believe in God so it will be between you and God if you ever make this right or not. I hold no hard feels or remorse towards you and wish you the best. May God bless you."

Overall experience was great. The cost is much less than HR Block and other Tax Perparers. Also, they are Enrolled Agents which means they are certified experts and can represent their clients should the IRS contact them.

Not only did the tax preparer, Kurt, make me feel comfortable and informed, he encouraged me to go home and get some further documents that could help me get my full refund. While I was gone, he helped an elderly man who walked in with no appointment and charged the man next to nothing. When i complimented him on what I'd overheard of him being so kind to the old gentleman, Kurt said that he didn't want to see a long client while I was gone, anyway, so as not to keep me waiting. The work was done in a private office, not some semi-public cubical. That by itself was a huge bonus.
