My Best Friend Dog Training

Judy is a wonderful dog trainer.  She is encouraging and patient and obviously enjoys working with all kinds of dogs and their people.  If a problem pops up, she gives you the confidence and help to find a solution.  She also helps us keep it in perspective!  We are preparing for our first real test in NoseWork - an Odor Recognition Test.  This must be passed before you can compete for any NoseWork titles.  She is doing a great job of preparing us - she works on any issues individual teams might be having and has the knowledge and experience to do so.  And even more amazing - keeps it humorous!  It is really nice to work with a trainer that realizes for most of us, this is a hobby, and we want to have fun with our dogs!  Achieve competition goals?  Icing on the cake!

I LOVE Judy and Margery. We have used several training facilities over the years and recently, and these ladies are by far the best. They keep class sizes small so that you can get individualized training even during group classes, and they have techniques that actually work! They're all about positive reinforcement, and there is no negativity, so my dog loves to go to class.
Judy was even able to provide us with a private evaluation/training session for our puppy, and we learned that she has some leash reactivity. Judy was able to teach us techniques to help her with that, and provided us with information on large dog walking groups in the area.
We are currently signed up for two more classes that we'll be doing simultaneously...Training for the Real World 2 with Judy and Margery, as well as an Agility class through one of their partners. We can't wait for those to begin!
Their costs are very reasonable, and I think low. The costs are detailed on their website, and generally run $125 for a 6-session course. They offer discounts for returning clients, too.
I recommend My Best Friend Dog Training...and will probably never use anyone else!

Judy and her partner Margery showed us many effective techniques to train our puppy. We had taken a class at a local pet store that was poorly run, disorganized, and a waste of our time. We found Judy through an ad for a class that she holds at Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control. We enrolled in two sessions of consecutive puppy classes and two private lessons in our home. The results are more than satisfactory. We learned how to help our dog become a well mannered member of the family ... which is priceless to us. Each week she demonstrated new techniques and reviewed our progress at the next meeting. She supplied the group with many informative and worthwhile handouts, including a very thorough handbook. We felt she took a special interest in our dog's progress. She was readily available to answer our emails and phone calls. We would highly recommend her services. She offers a wide variety of classes for dogs of all ages. Very well run business, indeed!
