One of two major branches stemming from the trunk of a tree fell during a storm and landed on a flat tar roof over the sunroom in our home. Tony Cruz Tree Service provided an estimate and a good price for what I understood as the complete removal of the tree down to the stump. The crew arrived on the scheduled date and I arrived home when they were finishing up to find that they had removed only the fallen branch and not the tree as a whole. My conversation with Tony Cruz about the work to be done was clear and I would not have agreed to the price quoted if I thought it was only for removal of the fallen branch alone. In any case, he refused to do what we had agreed upon, or accept less for having done less, and so I have rated the price down from good to fair since less was done for it.
Furthermore, his crew left a mess on the flat roof from which the fallen branch was removed, on the ground below that roof, and even on my neighbor's yard. Also, the crew did not cover the open air conditioner under the awning just below the roof they were working on (which could have been done with a simple heavy blanket, etc.), and so lots of chips from the chainsawing fell into the air conditioner (I was left to vacuum and otherwise clean up that and the rest as best I could).
I hope others have had better experiences, but based on my experience I would not use Tony Cruz Tree Services (same address in 2010 as Vera Cruz Tree Service) under any circumstances and want to let others know my experience as they select a tree service.
Current Update: The remaining part of the tree in question, which I had asked to be removed by Cruz, fell on our higher roof last week and did some damage to that roof. The new company, Miramontes, removed much more tree (the remaining major branch and the trunk of the high tree in question and stump grinding) for a very reasonable price and did a great job of both the removal and the cleanup. The new company also very professionally hung heavy plastic curtains from the awning covering the air conditioner to prevent chips, etc. from falling into it.
The contrast of experiences described above has prompted me to post this review now for the benefit of those in the community choosing a tree service provider.

He has a good price for removing trees and does a nice job. He is friendly. We have used Tony Cruz and Sons Tree Service several times before and will definitely use him again.
