I called to get an estimate, they showed up on time, did an inspection and said they would email my quote within 3 days. After a week we called and left 3 messages, no reply, no quote, no contact at all.
Description of Work: Did an inspection after that no contact.

All of the work was done well. All the materials were selected to blend into a l940's house with an updated look. All the new woodwork blends with the old and the exterior surfaces were special ordered so they would match. All the workmen were polite, courteous, and well kempt. Every night before they left, they cleaned up the space they were working in. All the subcontractors were also great to have around. Any changes or problems were carefully explained and we were aware of what they were doing. Any cost changes were at our suggestion. For example, we chose a more expensive cabinet than originally suggested and signed off on the additional cost. It took longer than I expected; however, I understand now that usually is the case with remodels. We are very pleased with the results.
Description of Work: We moved into a South Bend house which we purchased from the estate of the original owners. It was built in 1941 and the only renovation was a kitchen remodel in 1957. It had 4 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths. We decided to renovate by adding a bathroom upstairs, adding a mud room on the first floor, remodel the kitchen, the half bath, and generally spruce up the interior and the exterior. We wanted to use comparible materials and have the new addition blend into the original building. We needed to keep the construction costs under $100,000. We consulted an architect who suggested which walls could be changed and which ones would have to remain. Our architect suggested Michael Alfrey, who is known to do quality work on older homes. In the end, we renovated the kitchen and changed the openings so that we have a bar where there was an original wall to the dining room. We added a mud room downstairs with a half bath by moving the original attached garage forward and using that space. Above the new garage at the front of the house, we added a new full bath. It adjoins one of the bedrooms so that bedroom could become the master if wanted.
