"Thank you for the frank feedback. While we disagree with several of the points brought up in your review, it doesn't make up for the fact that you were disappointed in our process and work. For that, we apologize for not meeting your standards."
"We appreciate the candid feedback. Our process involves providing a very detailed proposal that spells out each step of the process, materials specified, and other information to describe how we do our work. We also work with our customers up front, often under a design agreement, to provide a firm price for the project based on this proposal. While we try to provide cost guidelines early in the process, we are not able to provide firm pricing until we have gone through the design process. We're sorry that our pricing was not within your budget for this project."
?I have reread your emails. Frankly, I get a bad feeling that you think you know a lot more about our own business than we do. We have been in business for 32 years because of our reputation, quality and attention to excellent customer service. Our estimating is processed using previous costs, strong insight to provide a price, to include markup that hopefully is marketable, competitive and profitable. The same formula and principals......over and over.
I have advised Nick that we are withdrawing from your project.

"BBB & Angies List Response We, Peacock and Company, provided Mr. and Mrs. [Member name removed] what our agreement stated. We met on a Sunday afternoon August 9, 2015, to help expedite the design and estimating processes that Mr. and Mrs. [Member name removed] expressed urgency. As we do with all prospective clients, we listen to what their dreams and ideas are, interpret, as best as possible and then design and estimate with the procedures that we use day in and day out. The original proposal was revised per the customer’s request. Upon the receipt of the revised proposal the client came back and requested us to use product not available in our normal supply chain. He also implied that he felt our normal labor rates might be questionable, that our markup to cover overhead and profit seemed excessive. As I had advised Mr. [Member name removed] our estimating is predicated on being consistent to be competitive, quality based, marketable and devised to also cover administrative and customer service. That is what we have learned to be able to be in business 32 years and have a very comfortable customer base. We have withdrawn from the project feeling uncomfortable with Mr. [Member name removed] with what we felt was possibly confrontational behavior."
Highly recommend...five stars!
Highly recommend, extremely satisfied...five stars.
It took 5 weeks, which is what they said it would take. They were responsive to my changes, although I think a upcharge of 30% was kind of high. They were the highest of my three bids, but gave us a professional presentation, which led us to pick them. They kept me informed from beginning to end and they used good quality products. The old saying you get what you pay goes here, they may have been the highest bid, but I would use them again.
The tile guy took 2 weeks to finish his part of the job, during which time no one else could or would work on anything else. He showed up late and often left before 3pm. My sister, who was staying with us during the remodel, overheard him complaining to the project manager about us (the owners). "Why do they need it like that?'" "Why cant they just have something normal?" His part wasn't that elaborate! The project manager never corrected this either. He smelled of alcohol more than a few times while he was working in our house. He was very unpleasant to us any time we had a question. We gave him the pattern of how to lay a certain tile design, he changed it without consulting us. My husband caught it but when he told the tile guy that it was incorrect he was told that it would cost us extra.
We have a glass enclosed shower that Peacock installed. The door still leaks! Always has. We have to keep a towel in front of the door to catch all the water that literally flows out. It has caused the paint on the half wall next to the door to peel and bubble. We called multiple times to have them come fix the problem and they never did. The bulkhead they installed in the bathroom leaked so now there's a water mark and peeling paint on the ceiling. After multiple calls Peacock failed to come fix that either.
In our Master Closet, we requested brushed nickel rod hangers. Our project manager told us they didn't make them and she would have to special order them at the cost of an extra $500+. My husband jumped online and found them in a matter of a few minutes and much cheaper!
All of this and they went a month over their deadline! We felt like since our income isn't as high as Peacocks higher end clients and we are younger that we didn't matter as much and were taken advantage of.
