Tub cracked and chipped after only 4 months. Couldn't tell me why this happened without even looking at it in person and then claimed the warranty wouldn't cover it, with no explanation. Was told there would be no fumes which was a lie. Fumes strongly lingered for nearly two weeks afterword. Also, refused to wear a mask in my home. I was told, "no, we don't do that"! Receptionist is also rude.

Fine. Did what was expected.

Unlike a previous rater, I had no difficulty in getting in touch with him. He called back promptly, quoted me a price, and showed up on time and ready to work. The work was performed quickly and well. In spite of the fact that there were toxic stripping agents used to clean the sink prior to recoating, the venting that he used dealt really well with the odor. I could barely smell anything even while stripping was going on. He was very organized and very neat throughout. The job was expensive, but it was well done. I was very pleased with the result, would use him again, and would recommend him to others.

I called Pallidan and received a quote and a caution about what to ask future companies that I quote, questions to ask, etc. I called back and set an appointment with him since his price was almost half of the other quote I received. He showed up to our house early, took care to protect the area around the tub, vented the area through a different room and finished the service within a few hours. He gave us a few "care" guidelines.

1. Requested an on-site quote when we made our call, but he refused, stating that he never makes on-site quotes. We told him that we had a "peeling paint" problem on the bottom of our bathtub from a previous tub refinishing be the former home owner in 2001. 2. We were quoted a fee of $350.00 and no additional fees were discussed during the original phone call. We were not informed of an extra fee to strip previous refinishing. 3. On the day the service was rendered, we were told that we needed to pay $75.00 to strip off the peeling paint from the previous tub refinishing. (We found the receipt from the previous home owner and it was by Pallidan Refinishing, same company as this one, but didn't know it when we called to discuss obtaining his services. All we had was a phone number given to us by Lowe's in Goshen when we inquired at Lowe's about knowledge of anyone who might refinish tubs in our area). 4. We had an issue with some "running of paint" along the side of our tub. We called the same night to inform him of this and never heard back from him, until we had to call him back. Now we have to wait 3 weeks before he comes back to fix it. He said that he is not willing to make any length trip if he has to drive a distance outside his current work radius and that he didn't have any jobs in our area until then. 5. Very poor customer service and he is very unwilling to listen to your complaint. He told us "That his customer service is not the issue, it's his customers that complain too much and that his work is professional". 6. When we made the phone call the same evening as the service date and never heard back from him, until we called him again. He stated that "he didn't feel making return phone calls wasn't necessary".
