The folks at LaSalle Auto Body (which is actually on Colfax Ave.) were very friendly, very knowledgeable, willing to work with our vacation schedule, and very up-front about costs and potential problems. They gave an estimate well below the estimates of several other body shops in our area for the same work. In the consultation, he was very clear that matching the paint could be a problem because of how the fading had changed the original color. He also thought they could do a good job, and, if they needed to, they could blend from one shade into the other. He found several rusted places that he believed didn't need a new panel, only working the metal back out. I had been told by other shops that all such panels needed to be replaced.
We left the car over our vacation with the intention of picking it up when we returned. They had the car ready as promised. I couldn't tell where the dents had been or where they had painted. The finish was fine. It now looks like what it is, an old car that's been kept in good condition. After the fact, I wish I'd had them repaint the hood also. The two shades don't quite match now. My bad.

I gave them the job, they finished the job on time, within the estimate and with an excellent result! The newly painted areas blend in perfectly and are impossible to distinguish!

After 2 weeks, I received a call and it was ready to be picked up. Took it home and noticed that the air conditioner wasn't cold and there was a creaking noise in the front end. They rescheduled immediately and fixed the A.C. and the creaking noise. The shop owner took personal interest in making sure everything met my expectations. The vehicle is now in as good of shape as it was before the accident.
