Called to get a price estimate for cleaning and sealing a somewhat large deck. The owner seemed gruff, and not really enthusiastic about it. Said he’d call back within a week to set up an appointment to come out. He did call back in that period, but his attitude was pretty unprofessional — I almost decided to hang up and forget about them. The owner came to my house later that afternoon. The visit went better; he took measurements, explained how they would do the job, and told me some information about his business. He said he’d e-mail me an estimate within a few days, plus mail me a written copy. Almost a month went by without a word; I called and left a voice message about two weeks ago, and still no reply. They’ve supposedly been in business for over 30 years, but unless you’ve got plenty of spare time and energy to hound this guy for even a price estimate, avoid them.

Went well, smooth. Small job (one medium bedroom) Dan Koontz and one assistant knock the job out in little over an hour. Happy with the results. Originally I had heard of Koontz Painting by a flyer that was placed in my mailbox couple years back. My neighbors had used Dan so I gave him a call. Later this summer I will have Koontz Painting back out to paint all the window & door frames on the outside of my house. Will post another review then.
