This past Christmas (December 2016) I was on vacation with my son in Washington State when the faucet developed another leak and flooded the whole area around it before my wife noticed it and called me. I had her call Neil Patzner and tell him that the faucet he had repaired last year was leaking again we needed someone to come repair it. He told her that he had told me last year that the repair he had made might not hold because it needed further work, and that he had difficulty in getting paid by me last time and would not come out to work on this again for me. This was totally untrue. If he had told me at the time that the repair required more work I would have had him do the work. I wanted my faucet FIXED, not taped up with a band aid repair. I would never have agreed to any fix that was considered temporary. So, I called him myself and he tried to tell me that he had warned me that it might leak again. I reminded him that I was not there when he finished the work and that the only other conversation we had about the work was when we discussed the payment and I praised him for being so fast and efficient (I have the text messages to prove this) He then started saying that he had a hard time getting paid by me and I reminded him that while there was a check that was apparently lost in the mail that I had been staying in consistent touch with him and had been just as concerned about making sure that he got paid as he was about getting paid (again the text messages prove this). I had asked him to wait for the check for a few extra days before cancelling it and reissuing payment to him in person. At first, he refused to come out to work on the faucet and demanded to be paid up front. I think he was afraid that I would not pay him, as I had already paid him for one faulty repair on this faucet and really he should have been fixing his original shoddy work without expecting payment. But I was in no position to do anything but try to get someone to cease the water that was leaking at my business. He continued to demand immediate payment. I told him I was in no position to pay him immediately, as I was in Washington State and my wife did not have access to the business account that this would be paid from. After much arguing, we finally agreed that I would pay him via pay pal as soon as he finished and sent me an invoice by email. This was the only way he would go out and fix the job that he had apparently only temporarily ‘fixed’ in the spring. He sent two men out to do the job. They finished the job several hours later and he sent me a text with the amount of the bill ($ 527.36) but no invoice. I was out with my son at the time of the text and did not receive an email with the invoice. Shortly after the text, while my son and I were ordering our food in a restaurant he began trying to call me. I didn’t answer the phone because I was trying to place my order at a restaurant. He called and when I didn’t pick up he called and called and called again. He then sent me a text telling me that if he didn’t receive payment within 30 mins he was going to go out and tear out all of the work that had been done already. I had to step out of the restaurant to call him back. He was belligerent and rude and threatening. I paid the invoice via Pay Pal. If you are considering having Riverway Plumbing work on your residence or your business I would reconsider and check other options. Apparently they do not stand behind their work, and if you dare to question them about why the plumbing they fixed last year failed they will become angry and verbally abusive and likely do another shoddy repair job, Also the cost of my yard hydrant totals over $800.00 from this business.
Description of Work: In the spring of 2016 I noticed a leak in my frost free yard hydrant. I called Neil Patzner of Riverway Plumbing to repair it. He came out quickly and met me at my business (a local campground). I showed him the leaking faucet and he set about repairing it.

When I replace your outdoor hydrant before I dug it up and told you you should dig it back and replace 5 feet of pipe because it was pvc material. You declined the extra cost. Saying it work many years with the material before. It took 6 weeks to get paid from invoice date to deposit I had to pick it up at site. Again 8 months later I get a call saying the hydrant is broken it snapped at a different spot on pvc and Doug it back the extra 5 feet and installed the hydrant again.

The bill was a copy that I couldn't read. I had to ask for the original. it was only valid for 30 days. He charged by the word. I supplied the parts but he charged me for parts anyway. He worked for probably 20 minutes but he charged me for probably 2 hours he stood around and talked. I called him today to talk to him about it and he hung up on me. I called back to leave a message and he disconnected the call. He comes off as a great man and seems trustworthy but is totally dishonest. He tries to make women look like they are idiots. He's not that professional. The main thing is that I was over charged and that he hung up when I called him. Hes a scam artist in my book. I think that he has done some unethical practices. I believe that he takes advantage of women and the situation. He works dishonestly.

On budget, on time, and neat as a pin. They came with a crew of 4, it was amazing to watch them work. They were in the attic, under the house, and in the bathroom. Here is what I liked most? I had done some research and thought I had found the tankless water system we needed. Neal took a look at the one I had selected, and then he showed me a better one. He explained the difference between the one I selected and the one he showed me. We have an old house and I had trouble finding a toilet that would work in the space, I called Neal and he said no problem he would find one that would work and in the bisque color that is now so difficult to find. For this type expense you want someone that will help you get the most out of your investment and choose the right product. They did a really great job for us and we could not be more pleased. They have coupons, which saved us 10%.
Description of Work: Purchase & Installed tankless water system + natural gas line. Purchase and installed water filtration system, purchase and installed new stool. Purchase and installed washer hot and cold turn off values. Installed water softener. Fixed (replaced) alot of the under house pluming, and new . Installed gas line for stove.

Neil responded to my email Thursday afternoon, and was here bright and early on Friday, which was great because i had no water. He was here about 2 hours, answered all my questions very patiently, and told me how to avoid having my pipes freeze again. I did not go into the crawl space to look because there are spiders down there, but he did show me a picture of what he had done to the leaky pipe and the wide open crawl space vents. A couple of days later, i noticed the kitchen sink was leaking again, and he immediately came back and fixed the problem. So far, so good (this was just yesterday). I have recommended him to 2 other people who may be needing a plumber. He did not leave any mess behind. My carpet was not really clean when he left, but it wasnt clean when he got here. He took his shoes off at the door and I was pleased with his work.

There were 2 parts: I initially called him out to check out a stink coming from a downstairs shower. I suspected the trap in the drain was broken, but I'm on expert. He checked out the shower and immediately sighed in disbelief because there was no trap. The people who owned the home before us had redone the bathroom themselves and, apparently, they were also not experts in plumbing. He recommended tearing up the floor and installing a trap in the future, but since we don't use the shower, there was no rush. He plugged the drain with some silicone caulk and a plug for the time being to stop the smell until we were able to fix it permanently. While he was here, I had him look at the floor drain in the laundry room. It sometimes backs up and doesn't drain all the way. I've never had a floor drain before, so I didn't know what was normal. He informed me that there would always be standing water because it acts as the trap like what the shower didn't have. It didn't drain nearly quickly enough, though, so he snaked it and the drain in the garage. This took care of that problem. I initially called last night for him to call the next morning (this morning) because another company I contacted yesterday never got back to me. Neil returned my call this morning and had an opening so he came right over. The price seemed a little high, but I've never hired a plumber before, so I'm guessing that $120 is a fair price. It didn't break the bank and he got done what needed to get done in a timely fashion.

Overall, bad experience. We had our tub and tub surround replaced. We thought the price was fair. However, the house was left a mess with mud tracked all over the house and stairs and the old, broken up tub left in the middle of my garage floor. (Don't most people remove trash when working on a project?) As for the tub, there are a few small scratches on the edges, which I can live with. However, there is a rather large chip in the surround that I didn't notice until I was sitting down in the tub. This chip wasn't brought to my attention and they had to have known they did it when trying to force it into the bathroom (without removing the bathroom door), nor was the trim that had been pulled off of the window frame in the process of removing the tub and had been simply pushed back into place without nailing back onto the frame properly. They had also yanked the vent out of the ceiling and left it dangling by wires. Fortunately I did notice that before handing over the check so it was put back into place by the guy picking up the check. The workers were friendly, but not very professional. Neil, the guy who gave the estimate and picked up the check, clearly just wanted the check. I wouldn't suggest their services. However, if you do decide to hire them, check their work very, VERY carefully before paying them. I am not an overly picky person, but I do value honesty and professionalism. Two things that Riverway Plumbing did not deliver.

I never got to meet to owner. Our communication was done by email. When I came out to bid her daughter was there. The item we installed was a box store item that the home owner bought. My Employees had there shoe off at the front door. The carpet was not clean from the start. I told the daughter that the tub has been damaged underneath the tub and ask if they want to return it. She asked if it was visible damage I said no. I told her that I would not be responsible for any damage I didn't see. My lesson to myself is not to do work that I have not met.

Second floor bathtub drain developed a leak that ran through the main floor ceiling. So, logged on to "Angie's List," and looked at the reviews because I have never felt confident with the plumbers I have had in the past. Called Neil on Tuesday, 1/22/13, and told him it wasn't an emergency...he could schedule my repair at his convenience. He was available at 9:00 AM, Thursday, 1/24/13 to come and take a look. I warned him that this was a really old house and nothing is where it is supposed to be! I didn't know if a wall or floor had to be removed to access the drain, but there is an access panel to the tub plumbing. I dreaded the mess I might have to deal with (been there before). Neil arrived promptly at 9 AM. He took a look at the drain, found the leak, & said he might have to cut out part of the lower wall and floor. Fortunately, only part of a board blocking access to the drain had to be removed using a reciprocating saw. He tightened the drain connector which had come loose and put everything back together. He did it all in less than an hour and did not leave a mess! I was so relieved and impressed! Past experiences with plumbers have made me very anxious, but not with Neil. He is self assured and explains the problem and resolution very clearly. While he was here, I asked him to look at a plumbing issue that I have put off for years due to the huge quotes I have had. After assessing the rerouting of a drain, he suggested a more feasible solution that will cost considerably less. We scheduled the job for next week, and after all these years, one less thing to worry about. Neil has restored my faith in reputable plumbers! Thank you "Angie's List" for a great resource, and thank you Neil for your great service!

I have used this company multiple times for really big issues (water main busted!) to the very small sink and faucet install. They are absolutely wonderful and punctual. They are friendly and don't mind discussing your plumbing with you and even showing you how to do things yourself! I had an employee show me how to flush my own water heater in case I didn't want to call him out for it again. They were extremely reasonable for the water main break giving me an original estimate and then reducing it by a few hundred bucks once they realized the work would be easier than expected! Truly rare! I hope I never have to move out of their service range. My wife and I both love dealing with them.

The entire project went extremely well, staying on budget and on schedule. Neil was great during the initial quote visit willing to take the time to look and discuss various options and approaches. The rough in and basic work went as expected. Neil and his team took the extra effort to make sure the finish and detailed work with the fixtures and cabinets was done so that it showcased the look.
Description of Work: Riverway installed an gas on-demand hot water heater to replace a electric tank hot water heated and installed all the plumbing for a basement finishing project to include two full bathrooms and a set tub area. Riverway had the best price for the entire job and used a top of the line, super high efficiency on-demand heater. Neil worked with us on developing the best approach to the entire installation including equipment and parts use as well working with our current plumbing which includes a recirculation line. Riverway was punctual for all the appointments and installation times and some followup visits to complete the detailed finishing as sinks and showers were installed. Riverway used PEX tubbing which is superior to the hard white plastic piping currently in the house. Neil and the entire Riverway team are professional, courteous and knowledgeable.

I phoned them approx. April 17, and they came out the next morning. I explained in advance that I definitely wanted the outside faucet fixed, and depending on the cost, that I needed kitchen sink leaks fixed. I explained in advance I had a crawlspace to access trouble spot. After investigating the leaks, Neil told me the cost for outside faucet replacement and pipe repairs and I agreed. Then I asked him to look at the leaks in and around the kitchen sink. He did and gave the cost I agreed. He and helper finished the work on both items in good time, approx. 1.5 hours. However, the next morning I thought I heard water leaking in the crawlspace. I phoned Neil around 8:15 am and he showed up at my house at 8:30 AM! He found a leak in a different spot than the original leak and repaired it too. My totals cost for all repairs was $164. I would not hesitate to uses his services in the future. He guarantees his work and is quick and efficient.
Description of Work: Replaced faucet on outside of home, and replaced leaking pipes underneath home. Replaced gasket in and housing in kitchen sink and repaired leaks underneath kitchen sink.
